How to unlock the High Miles achievement in MX vs. ATV Alive - Definitive Guide
I can confirm that this chieevo is CUMULATIVE. If you get bored you don't need to drive whole 100 miles at once. I got it after few shorter sessions.
Since free ride is good for tricks training, especially hard 360's it's very possible you will get without any boost.

Yes, but it will take much longer since you won't be gaining too much speed

If you want to do this achievement fast! You can do it over night!
You can do it on a MX bike but I chose to do it on an ATV as I thought you'd be more sturdy not fall off as much! but the choice is up to you!
All I did was go on free ride and Sellotape down and to the right and to the left to all your rider will do is big doughnuts!
Leave it all night and in the morning the achievement will be yours!
You will average 5 miles every 15mins but the good thing is at the end of every 15mins you get (XP)
I got 500 points for the 5 miles covered and an extra 20% online bonus! So this will all add up to your level 50 xp achievement.

There is no set way to track this achievement, UNLESS from the moment you start playing the game start with Free Ride. From here you can ride until your hearts content. Upon "finishing the session" when you choose to do so, you then from the main menu can view RECORDS, then view RACE Challenges, there is a challenge for driving ex amount of miles. So in theory if you have only done Free Ride, you will have an accurate idea of how many miles you have driven.
Alternatively, you can simply do this whenever you see fit by selecting an atv, and rubber banding your controller to do doughnuts. I left my rider doing this for about 2 hours, and when coming back and finishing the session the cheevo unlocked!
Important Note: The achievement will not unlock while actually in free ride, you must finish the session, "basically by quitting" and if enough miles have been driven the cheevo will pop at your xp gained screen!

This is cumulative. There is no way to check how many miles you have ridden total, but it will tell you how many miles you have ridden at the end each session. This does not pop until the end of a session.
This will come over time if you drive around in Free Ride although it will likely need to be farmed because 100 miles is likely more than it will take you to get gold medals on all the challenges in Free Ride.
If you start a Free Ride session on Devil's Playground and go slightly right from the starting point, through the rocks to the dunes area you will find a part where there is a dip almost like a bowl
I used a 450 ATV and was able to basically hold down the trigger and just hold left on the stick to go in circles around the bowl
I don't think you can AFK like this as I needed to adjust slightly every couple of minutes to stay in the bowl, but it has the benefit of not crashing or going off somewhere while AFK, it's just consistent miles
