How to unlock the MotoSport Holeshot King achievement in MX vs. ATV Alive - Definitive Guide

To get a holeshot you need to be the first rider through the red and white arch setup near the beginning of each race. To better your odds of doing this you can gain a small speed boost at the beginning of each race by holding in your clutch (LB by default) and holding in the gas at the same time. This will fill the meter at the bottom right of your screen showing the potential boost to be gained. The goal is to release your clutch at the same time the gate drops to obtain your boost.

The easiest place to do this is on the first Nationals track with the difficulty set to easy. This track gives you plenty of time to get to the front of the pack and gain your holeshot. A message will appear in the bottom left corner of the screen confirming that you have earned the MotoSport Holeshot. After completing the race hit Y to restart the race and capture the holeshot two more times to gain the achievement.

This is also easily boostable online in a private match if you are having trouble completing it in single player.

If you fail to get the holeshot just restart the race. I can confirm this will not mess up the achievement. I was on race 4 of my 5 win streak and race 2 of 3 for this achievement. The next race still unlocked both achievements for me.

As explained in the other solution. Be the first to pas the red gates after the start. You do not have to finish race. Just be the first. Press start. Restart the race. Did this one in like 2 min.

To capture a MotoSport holeshot, you must be the first racer the make the first turn of the track, then you will notice orange font appear at the bottom left side of the screen letting you know that you’ve earned the holeshot. Capture three of these in a row for this achievement, capture one and win the race for “Green to Checkers.”

You can do this offline locally, or online with a friend.

A holeshot is where you jump out to first place as soon as the race starts. To get a holeshot, hold until your clutch meter is full. This will give you an extra boost out of the gate. You must do this 3 races in a row.
