I got gold in every event I was sure that was required to move on. Oh well easy anyways.

There are eight events, and the only difference between Amueter and Professional is that you have to manually jump, so it's not that bad.
What I recommend to do is playing through on Amueter, getting all of the achievements, and then play a quick run-through of Professional that way you'll have all 1,000 and without worrying about gold medals in this play-through.
