This trophy is cumulative and can be done over multiple plays.

The main purpose of the game is to save survivors, so this will be very basic. Just run through the house and collect survivors until you are maxed out and then head to a helicopter extraction spot to save them. You can only bring 10 normal ones or 6 special ones with you at any time, so one you reach your limit, head to a spot and save them, then go back for more. Just keep saving people and when you get your 1000th saved, the trophy will pop.

You can see how you are progressing by going to the trophy room and going to the spot where that trophy will be (3rd from right).
