This trophy is cumulative and can be done over multiple plays.

You will get this while going after the other trophies as you will take WAY more than 1000 steps to get them all (probably within your first game). Just keep walking around and when you hit 1000 steps, the trophy will pop.

You can see how you are progressing by going to the trophy room and going to the spot where that trophy will be (4th from right).
