How to unlock the A True Hotpot achievement in My Time At Portia - Definitive Guide

I did this with 17 chili peppers. Didn't seem too hard and it seemed to pop much earlier than 10 seconds.

Toward the end of winter there's an event that involves the community tossing food into a giant dish. Your goal is to keep the bar at the top, over 85% for 10 seconds. That bar is related to how spicy the dish is. You can buy 5 Chilis at the event, among other things, but try and come prepared.

Also, I just tried this with 30 chilis and did not get it. You must have gotten really lucky with the amount of spicy food the other townsfolk were putting in. I would recommend bringing as many chilis as possible, they shouldnt cost you too much. You should have more than enough gold at this point in the game

I had to use 73 peppers for the achievement, no idea how OP was able to do this with only 17 -- that didn't even get me 1/3 of the way there. Come prepared with at least 100, you can always revert the save if you blew too much money on peppers.

I grew and brought 100 chili peppers with me to the event. You can eat some of the stew after you add 10 ingredients, not sure if it helps boost your cooking skill or what it does exactly. I threw 10-20 chili peppers in the pot, ate some stew, then threw in another 10-20 chili peppers, and the achievement popped quite quickly. For fun and social points after getting the achievement, I threw in some of the requested ingredients and kept the heat up with more peppers until the event ended.

17+5 chilies was quite too few.
Reload the day, buy from farm store, toss 37 to 50 chilies into pot at a slow pace. (150 chilies is 2000 gold)

I had 30 chillies and tossed them in around 1 per second. Once they were depleted, i just kept hitting A to eat the hot pot, then after roughly 3 or 4 times eating (maybe 15-30 seconds after i put my final chilli in) the achievement eventually popped.

Got this the day of the event. You can still buy the peppers from the Farm Store on event day (unlike most farm sim games). I bought 50 and just mashed X, popped after I added about 20 peppers

Heads up - I had an unfortunate glitch where the hot-pot minigame wouldn't trigger at all. NPCs would crowd around the pot, but there was no spicy meter above it, and I couldn't add any ingredients.

Turns out it's because the day before I had completed the main quest of the game.

Thankfully, I was able to fix this by using the Load feature, and skipping the last main quest mission on the 22nd - and on the 23rd the minigame triggered properly this time.

Hope that helps someone.

During the winter solstice bring a lot of chili peppers and just spam them in. You'll probably need 30-40.
