You can get this achievement post-game. When you give the guy your white page stick around, he will disappear and come back again a while later. When he comes back he gives you the book and the sanctum/library. Click the book to go back and to get your achievement

Game glitched on me the first time. Gave him the white page, he said I could have the library and I should use the Myst book to go back to the island, but then nothing happened. Couldn't use the book to go back or anything, game had soft locked. So I fully quit the game and reloaded my save, and now it seems to be working.
