Narita Boy

This achievement is missable! You can access all the hidden rooms and their achievements without ever picking up a single Backup Floppy Disk, so be careful!

The first Floppy Disk requires you to hit the 3 buttons around 'The Creators' Castle' while you're trying to gain access to see Baba. Once you've hit all 3 buttons, a door will open, inside you'll receive your first Backup Floppy Disk. Two of the buttons are easy to find and will come naturally, the third however requires you to backtrack a little bit, explained here:





Yellow House: Oasis

To reach the Oasis climb up through the 'Runaway Colt Quarter' and head to the right at the top. Now in the Oasis, you'll fight some enemies and the transcriber portal will become available. Input this code to access Taiyo's hidden room and retrieve the Backup Floppy Disk.





Blue House: Abode of the Techno-Guru Compiler.

After speaking to the Techno-Guru Compiler who offers to build you a Floppy Board, the transcriber portal will light up just to your left. Input the following code to access the hidden room and retrieve the Backup Floppy Disk.





Blue House: Floppy Island (Retrieving the key card to Redbeard battle). (Part 1/2)

You'll teleport to Floppy island to retrieve the Floppy Board code. Once you arrive, go all the way to the left until you reach the 'Old Telephone Box' and from there go through the top left to 'West Hillside' until you reach the 'Cliff'. From the Cliff, climb/jump down and go into the cave and push the button. The button will unlock 'Cavern of the Well' one screen to the left of the Floppy Island starting area. Backtrack to the beginning and into this cave and retrieve the key. Exit the cave and climb back up and go left to the Telephone Box area, climb to the very top and input the code into the teleporter.

Once inside, you'll talk to the NPC on the far right to gain access to the balcony and retrieve the Key Card that gives you access to the Redbeard boss battle. This key card unlocks the achievement "A room with a view" even though you only obtain the Backup Floppy Disk after defeating Redbeard. Once you've done this, head back all the way to the right to the starting area and back through the teleporter. Now speak with the Tech-Guru Compiler so that he may compile your Floppy Board.




Blue House: Access to the Onsen, The Thermal Baths (Red beard fight with the Backup Floppy Disk as a reward) (Part 2/2)

There is a red chest just outside the entrance of the 'Access to the Onsen, The Thermal Baths'. Assuming you've already acquired the key card on the balcony earlier on Floppy Island and woke up the Lighthouse keeper but before going into the Thermal Baths, insert the key card into the terminal and a boss battle with Redbeard will begin. Redbeard cannot be hurt! You need to attack his parrot. The key to winning this is very simple. Stand as far away possible from Redbeard and let him come to you which will put distance between him and the parrot. Once this is done, run over to the parrot and hit it. The parrot will then fly to Redbeards side and Redbeard will launch shockwaves while the parrot shoots beams in the air, so try and jump between them or manage to get behind Redbeard to attack the parrot some more while he's locked in the opposite direction firing off shockwaves. Following Redbeard's defeat, you'll be transported outside in front of the chest and the Backup Floppy Disk will be floating in front of you.

Red House: Inside the Transcriptor's Barrow


Once you arrive in the red house, you'll eventually learn the Dashstab move. Once you've acquired it, make your way back to the starting area 'Transcriptor's Barrow' and Dashstab the red door. Once you're 'Inside the Transcriptor's Barrow', input the following code to access Johnny's hidden room and retrieve the Backup Floppy Disk.

As far as I am aware there are 6 floppy discs in this game

Chapter 1 (where you get your sword):
Requires you to hit 3 switches and the door near Baba opens up. Can't remember the exact location right now. One switch is to the right of the palace entrance, you need to jump over a large gap. Will add the next 2 switch locations once i replay the chapter

Yellow Chapter (Yellow door in chapter 3):


Blue Chapter (Blue door in chapter 3):



The last one is awarded for beating the pirate. You can find the pirate next to the big bath building (sensen i think it's called). Interact with the chest enter the boss fight. Only the parrot can take damage in this fight.
