The symbol transcriber is the coloured portal where you have to input three coloured symbols. Once you've acquired the Techno-Sword and Dodge ability, you'll backtrack and go down the elevators, you'll interact with the 'Elevator to the Underground Garden'. Once there, you'll need to activate the transcriber by pushing 3 buttons. They are all easy to find along the main path. Once you activate the transcriber portal, climb up and put in the following symbols: Yellow Square, Red Triangle, Blue Square. If you're unsure, watch for the symbols the NPC is dreaming about for the obvious answer.
