This achievement is strange, as soon as I rescued the old man I took control of him and my team were attacking that single guard outside the doorway you have to pull open with the grapple and I just held Left Bumper and kept pressing A and B alternating and the achievement unlocked o_O No need to do it to 10 guys I guess :P

It does appear that this achievement is a glitchy little mutha, like a few others have mentioned, i obtained it after throwing the sleeping potion at no more than three Telmarine guards. Still, there are two guard respawn positions near to Miraz's chambers where you can first take control of Cornelius, on the stairs and half way down the corridor, so even if you need use it on the specified ten guards, it will still take you next to no time at all to do ten with
