How to unlock the A Puppet with Ten Tails achievement in NARUTO SHIPPUDEN: Ultimate Ninja STORM 4 - Definitive Guide
Health must be 90% or better (you will kick yourself the 3rd time in a row you finish on 89%)
Continues are self explanatory, don't fail the fight for a S-rank.
QTE are the various scenes that play out at the beginning/end, you'll know when these are happening as Stars appear at the top middle of the screen.
There are also various in-battle QTE which while not counted, generally stop you from taking massive damage/dealing out extra.
Secret Actions are also an S-rank criteria for some missions and while 90% is still the target there are never enough so 100% is necessary.
This Mission has a single massive boss battle then a chase scene and QTE following.
Kuruma vs Ten Tails
This battle is almost entirely at range so will be your main attack, either as a mini-gun style single target or as a charged targeted attack using and hold to target multiple eyes at once (this expands chakra as a Ninjutsu) Chakra and targeting can be charged on the move so keep shifting around to avoid the various attacks;
fireballs from above, a red circle appears
swipes from left or right need jumping over
charged beam from mouth just needs avoiding to left or right.
Overhead handsmash is obvious as to its landing
Mini lasers from smaller eyes if you don't destroy them fast enough.
Make use of the support attack when the central eye is exposed. and charge in to to beat on the eye with .
Once you beat it here you'll be in a chase, watch the map and jump or evade the attacks sent your way, if you take too much damage retrying here only resets you to the beginning of the chase not the battle. The general attacks are the lightning bolts left right or central shift between them or use the sides and jump just before they reach you to evade. when the ten tails leaps to attack go to the right side (of screen) and jump to avoid damage. On the very last corner a warning will appear, get to the sides to avoid a beam attack.
Once the chase is over there is a long winded QTE to complete;
to call in Bee
Charge towards the Ten Tails
mash to open the mouth
charge Ninjutsu

Mash Fire beast bombs down its throat
to use 'allied forces jutsu'

quick succession of water fire and lava attacks

- 90% or higher Health
- 90% or higher IA Completion Ratio
- Never used a Continue
This S Rank trophy is a Boss Battle that is found under the "The allied Ninja Forces Jutsu" Episode Chapter. Below, you'll find information and strategy on how to achieve the S Rank.
The Allied Ninja Forces Jutsu ~ Part 1
This is one of the hardest S Rank battles that you'll be doing and it's Kurama and Gyuki vs Ten Tails. Thankfully, there are two different phases to this fight in an odd way. In the first part you'll need to destroy the eyes on the Ten Tail's body and maintain over 90% of your Health. Whatever Health bar meter you have from the first part of the fight will end up carrying over to the second part, so if you mess up on the second part of this battle you can just press and "Retry". This will bring you right back to the start of second part with the same Health you had started out with.
During this battle, you can only be in control of Kurama while Gyuki is only for support attacks with or . Kurama's attacks shoot out towards the lock-on targets. By moving the button, you can switch lock-on targets. Keep on shooting with the button and switching targets to destroy the Ten Tail's eyes. Additionally, you can launch a Tailed Beast Bomb [Chakra Load + ] to damage several targets with a single strike. You can also hold down the while performing the Tailed Beast Bomb to increase the number of lock-on targets that you can target. While fighting the Ten Tails be sure to keep on moving in one direction such as continuously going either left or right. This will help you dodge the Ten Tails' attacks while you're damaging him. If you running out of Chakra from shooting too much, remember to recharge your Chakra back up again by holding . Eventually, the Ten Tails will take too much damage where you can run up to him and use Kurama's Claw Attack combo [ ] to deal massive damage. If the Ten Tails swipes his arm across the battlefield you can dodge it if you press the , sometimes you can simply jump over it with , however, you usually get hit if you just jump the arm with . Pressing the is more suitable in this case. After defeating the Ten Tails, you'll move onto the second part which is Kurama running away from the Ten Tails. If you're not 90% or higher in Health before starting this part. You need to redo Part 1 of the fight over again and I recommend you do it perfectly, so you'll have room for error on Part 2.
The Allied Ninja Forces Jutsu ~ Part 2
This is part 2, but the exact same battle. Your Health bar from the first part carries over with you to this battle. So if you had over 90% from the first part, then you're good to go. However, if you're like at 90-93% and you get hit here, you might find this frustrating. That is why it is recommended that you do Part One perfectly before tackling the second part. During the chase scene, you're not fighting the Ten Tails exactly. Instead, you're running away from him until the Allied Ninja Forces come to Naruto's aid. All you can do is dodge the Ten Tails' attacks. The best thing you can do is try sticking with the a certain path (left, middle, or right paths) and watching where the Ten Tails will make his strikes. If you see him about to attack in your direction, go to the safest area of either the left, middle. or right sides. It is all random as the attack patterns aren't always the same. This will become much easier while you're attempting the S rank and if you do fail and fall below 90% Health. Quickly press and "Retry" to restart the battle again back to the start of the chase scene. Additionally, you can press the button to jump and dodge a few incoming attacks. Eventually, after making it to the end of the chase you'll need to finish the Interactive Actions that follows:
Interactive Actions Sequence
- to rejoin Gyuki
- to prepare the assault together
- Mash repeatedly to open the Ten Tails' month
- to charge Tailed Beast Bombs
- Mash repeatedly to fire multiple Tailed Beast Bombs into the Ten Tails' month
