How to unlock the Legendary fisherman achievement in Naruto The Broken Bond - Definitive Guide
There are 23 of these total throughout the different areas of the game. They're shown on the area map with a marker indicating if they've been completed, and are easy to find if you refer to it. The world map will also tell you how many in each area you've completed and have yet to complete. Sometimes you might find one that's marked on the map, but won't yet be able to attempt it (the guy says something about the fish not biting) -- just come back later, they all open up by the end of the game.
Clearing these is simple enough, simply tap the button as quickly as you can, and hold the joystick in the opposite direction (left or right) from where the fish is trying to go. Each fish is worth a certain number of points, and your total score is compared with the high scores when you either lose a fish or exit out. The primary difficulty here is how tedious it is to do these, so here's a few pointers:
If you have an autofire controller, USE IT! It'll save wear on your fingers and your controller, and speed up the process as well. I personally used my SF4 stick, but any turbo controller should do.
ALWAYS check your goal before you start reeling in fish. You can check this by quitting out right when you start -- your goal could be anywhere from 75 to 500 and as slow as points accumulate, you don't want to bother getting any more than you really need (or risk quitting out at 10 below your goal and having to start over).

I know that this is common sense, but I also wanted to mention that the right bumper will cause the mission to end without a confirmation/warning screen. I lost a couple times when I was tired by resting my right index finger just a little too high while tapping A.

I would advise doing the fishing challenges whenever you come across them in the story mode if you try to do them all at once at the end of the game it will be incredibly boring trust me doing 23 fishing challenges all in one go is both time consuming and boring. As I said do them when you see them in the story mode and by the end you will have all or almost all the chalenges done.

Very boring, and time consuming.. each peg seems to have it's own difficulty, on top of each score.. I'm certain there's a 100 point fish in there, because occassionly, I hook one that just goes, no matter haw fast I tap A

It's best to look at the record first (Click ) and just beat him by 1 fish more.
