After opening your free packs or vanity items and players, go to your Card Collection (the tile with Magic Johnson looking at cards).
When in the Card Collection, select a player for a team you unlocked (in the lower right-side of each team tile it will show you how many players you have unlocked - naturally teams with no players unlocked will be a 0/--).
After selecting your team, pick your player to customize with the A button.
Now you should be able to edit the player with the vanity items you got in the first free pack.
After selecting an item, the achievement will unlock.

After getting your first Player Cards, you also have to open a "Swag Pack", which includes a Top, a Trouser and a pair of Shoes.
After opening the Pack, just go to the Main Menu -> Card Collection and pick a random Player and press "X".
A "!" shows you, that there a new items to wear. Just pick 1 and press "X" again.
You see, that the Player is now wearing the Clothes you picked and the Trophy will pop.

You can get this Achievement after starting the game. You get a few packs when starting, including a "Swag Pack". This includes Cosmetics A.K.A Vanity Items.
After opening your First Packs. Go to:
- Card Collection
- Select Any Player
- Next scan through the Vanity Categories. Find one that has a item that you own.
- Apply that item for the Achievement 🏆

When you first start the game you will be given 4 free packs which includes players and vanity items (clothing for your players). In the Card Collection section select one of your players and equip one of these vanity items and the achievement will unlock.
