How to unlock the Buzzer Beater achievement in NBA 2K11 - Definitive Guide
you can also do the NOT OVER YET and BUZZER BEATER cheevo in the Jordan challenge...I did them yesterday while playing the father day challenge against the Sonics.
I was behind by 2 Points with 22 secondes left to play in the fourth quarter. I saved the game and jumped right back, so now, you have the chance to go for NOT OVER YET or BUZZER BEATER achievement and if you miss - no prob, just load your saved game and try it again.
PS: Please don't give negative votes without a comment. That doesn't help me in any way.
Set it up for 7 minute quarters no matter the gametype so you can also set yourself up for:
Personally I did this during an Association game to count towards the 30 games needed to be played in my conquest for:
Also I quit and saved with 1 minute left when I was 3 points down so that I could load and be set up for:
So there you have it, 3 achievements and another association win out of one 28 minute game instead of playing through three different 20+ minute games.
You NEED to have the ball in your possession, and in your best player's hands (unless you are using custom sliders). Shoot the ball with almost one second left on the game clock in the fourth quarter or overtime (not the 24 second shot clock) and make the basket to win the game.
It is best to have the game tied in case you miss you can try again in overtime.
This must be done in a game with at least 5 minute quarters. Sliders can be adjusted and difficulty altered. Can be done with two controllers and rules adjusted (shot clock off). This will not unlock in My Player mode.
The fabled Buzzer Beater, the shot that makes teams and fans alike go ballistic at the end of a game if it goes in. While it can be done with a second controller, this is very easy against an altered CPU. Set the difficulty to Rookie and change the sliders to your advantage. I suggest turning all the shot percentage ones up to 100 and possibly lower them for the opposition. Turning your block and steal percentages to 100 will also make this a lot easier.
Play with a team that has a good clutch player such as LeBron James or Carmelo Anthony (Heat and Nuggets, respectively). Let your opponent score, but make sure you hit right back and stay 1 or 2 points behind them the entire game. Once it gets down to the final 2 minutes of the game, this is the critical point of the game. Making sure you are losing AND in control of the ball with less than 24 seconds left is crucial. If you need to run the clock down to make sure this can be achieved without the opposition scoring, steal the ball as it should be easier and run it out of play. Continue this until 24 seconds are left then steal it again and hold onto it. Find your clutch player with about 10 seconds left and position them either outside the 3 or inside, depending on the score. Simply shoot with about 1.5 seconds left on the clock and hit the shot to win the game.
