How to unlock the Trip-Dub achievement in NBA 2K11 - Definitive Guide
Once you've implemented the changes to the sliders, begin a game (I did mine under Association mode). Make sure the quarters are set to five minutes.
A "triple-double" is accomplished when an individual player has three stats in double digits.
The three easiest stats to get double digits in are points, steals and assists. Once all three of a players statistics are in double digits, the achievement will immediately unlock during the game.
To make this simple, and to make attaining other achievements for this game easier, I recommend taking the time to edit the sliders to your favor beforehand.
When you load the game and enter the menu, look for the tab that states "Options." Once there, find the tab that says "My NBA Settings." Next, simply go to the tab that states "Game Sliders," and put the attributes to your favor as well as downgrading the computer's stat.
When you have finished, just back out and go to a quick game, in which case the game will automatically save the sliders for future games. To disable or reset the sliders to how they originally were after you have attained your achievements, just go back to the sliders and it will give you the ability to customize it to default sliders.
To get this achievement, you can just play a quick game with either a computer or two controller method. But note that if you are playing against a computer, you cannot switch teams or sign in a controller or the stats will be disable. Same as the two controller method; once the game starts, you cannot switch teams or sign out a controller when already playing with a friend.
*Note* You do not have to finish the game to get the achievement. You just need to get the necessary requirements during the game. Once you get the stats you need, the achievement will pop up.
You can change the difficulty to Rookie but it isn't actually necessary when the sliders are in your favor. If you are going for other achievements, I recommend changing the time limit of the quarters to as long as you need seeing as to how you do no have to finish the game more many of the achievements.
Finally, it is slightly annoying when the player you are using magically gets substituted. In the begging of the game I highly recommend going to the menu, then "Coaching," then "Coach Settings," and putting the following to MANUAL: Timeout, Substitution, Late Game Fouling.
You can get this with either a point guard (Chris Paul) or center (Dwight Howard). All you need is to have 10+ in three statistical areas. The most common is points, rebounds, and assists. It is best to go after getting rebounds first, which you can by highlighting your player, pressing and using to grab a rebound (any rebounds the computer grabs with you player counts). Second, go after assists (an assist is when you pass the ball to a player and they score). When going for assists, try to pass the ball to your best shooter. Finally, go after points. To shoot the ball use or the .
If you have a stat line that looks like this: 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, then you will get the trophy in game.
This must be done in a game with at least 5 minute quarters. Sliders can be adjusted and difficulty altered. Can be done with two controllers and rules adjusted (shot clock off). This will not unlock in My Player mode.
Adjust the sliders to the same as Buzzer Beater. A triple double will be easily completed before half time if you go after 10 points, 10 steals and 10 assists. Stealing the ball with your PG or SG will be a piece of cake, run down the court and score 10 points quickly. Now focus on stealing the ball if you can and passing it off to another player to automatically shoot. You should make the shots easily netting your player a triple double.
