How to unlock the 99 Problems and Domination Ain't One! achievement in NBA 2K14 - Definitive Guide
This achievement is glitched for me, and a few other people.
---
In order to get 3 stars in a Domination game you MUST use an all-BRONZE player lineup. The reason being is that you get a 3x Multiplier towards your score. There are a total of 33 games that you need to play and are separated between the Western and Eastern conferences, along with three all-star games.
There isn't a set list on what you have to do in order to get your score above 6000, but this is what I did in every game which got me around 7-9k.
Before you begin playing, make sure you change the free throw difficulty to 0 when in the main menu. Not the MyTeam menu, but the menu when you select NBA Today.
You do NOT have to win the game in order to get 3 stars!
- Try to score more than 80 points! You could probably get past with 70+, but I have never got below 7000 score if I scored above 80 points.
- Have at least 4 players scoring in double digits. I usually had two players with 20+, and 3 or 4 players with 10+.
- Play a fast paced offense. Attack the basket and try to run fast breaks as much as possible. You're more than likely not going to get a chance of scoring 60+ if you're running plays and playing slow.
- Play a Full Court Trap on defense. If you can't steal the ball on the inbound, let your opponent run up to the basket and try for a layup. If you have some good big men then you shouldn't have a problem getting a lot of blocks when doing this. By doing that all game I usually averaged around 15+ blocks a game.
- Don't be afraid of letting them score! If you're strapping them on defense and not letting them attack the basket everytime then you're going to be wasting a LOT of time. I usually kept jumping until they started to attack the basket. With your defensive assist at 100, I found that your big men usually close into them a lot faster when they attack it, so it will give you a better chance of getting the block.
You could also intentional foul to make sure you get at least 20+ a quarter, although I never did it and I'm not sure if you lose any points if you cause a lot of fouls.
Here's the lineup that I used during all of these games:
1 - Jordan Farmer / J.J Barea
2- Caldwell-Pope / Allen Crabbe
3 - Anthony Morrow / Wesley Johnson
4 - Tyler Zeller
5 - Tre Rollins / Greg Stiemsma
These guys are mostly all I used in-game. All but Tre Rollins can be found in Bronze packs.
If there's any other tips that you think I should include, feel free to let me know in the comments. Good luck!

For the people having problems with this achievement.. I just got this to pop for me after replaying most of the games all the way to utah jazz and it popped right after. I just re-played the teams I had no players on since those were the ones that glitched.

Damn, glad it unlocked for you. I've replayed every single game again to three star them and it still did not unlock. All games were fine without any interruption from the 2k servers or anything as well.

If for someone the achievement is still glitched, 2k support seems to have suggested a correct workaround to xboxachievements.com user Invincible666.
This is quote unquote from the 2k support guy;
"Hello,
Thanks for contacting 2k tech support.
If it is possible, would you mind changing the free throw difficulty to 0 when in the main menu.(Not the MyTeam menu, but the menu when you select NBA Today) and try to replay some of the teams again to see if the achievement were to unlock for you ?"
I looked at this and said....geez they seriously have no clue. BUT, I tried it...and it worked. One and done with this method. I went to the Menu, took it down to 0, went to MyTeam checked options there, went back out to ensure everything had stuck and then replayed Orlando for a convincing 7100 points and thus a 3 star. On that screen the achievement unlocked.
I would love to take credit for it but it was technically 2ksupport that assisted me so I hope that anyone here is able to replicate that scenario and finally unlock the achievement. [...]"
This workaround worked for me! I had free throw difficulty already at 0, I changed to 55, went back to MyTeam in order to let it register the change. Then I went back to change it to 0 and started a match with the Nets: 7000 points and achievement unlocked!

do the stars combine or do you have to get 6000 points in a game to get the three stars.

It’s possible to get 3 stars, that is, 6000 points, by playing only with bronze players
Accordingly, there are 2 ways to get 6000 points:
1. take a magic pill +100 to your skill, stock up on valerian and take out all your opponents, scoring 60+ points with a bunch of blocks, thefts, double-doubles, etc. Always use L1 and . It is not necessary to win; let your opponents go to the ring to block or foul to save time.
2. We recruit a team of big guys with a high blocking skill and stupidly block everything. Accordingly, after each play we immediately run behind the court line and continue making blocks.
even if you lose 0-150, but hit 40 blocks, you can get 3 stars

To get 3 stars using the second method, you need at least 40 blocks, don't confuse people.
