How to unlock the The First Of Many achievement in NBA 2K17 - Definitive Guide

For this one you just have to play Play Now Online and win 5 games against another opponent. If you use a Tier 5 team and your opponent uses a team in a higher tier you get 2 additional wins so you may not have to actually win all 5 games.

I don't think it will work because if you lose then you get demoted except at the first level.

To earn a call-up in the Freshman tier, you have to get 5 wins + 1 win (for the Trophy) in 10 games. You can get bonus wins if you beat higher Tier teams with lower Tier teams.

To receive the trophy, you need to select a team in play online mode. There are 5 categories of commands. Category 5 is the lowest. Choose a team from it (if you defeat a team of a higher level, you will be given an additional victory bonus). Before starting the game, press the option button and select default. Play and win, you need to earn at least 5 wins.
