In MyGM sim to the offseason(skip all the cutscenes, etc) in MyGM mode I was Hawks GM and team was sold, then sold back to original owner. In the offseason around the Staff Retirement step, you will be in a limo with new/old owner and he will ask you to be president of basketball operations, accept offer and you get achievement.
