-Diamond: Complete 1 Spotlight Sim Challenge team.
-Pink Diamond: KOBE-JHE93-J987G-PWEHD
-Galaxy Opal: Complete East or West Historic Spotlight Sim for Gilbert Arenas or Chris Mullin. (You need 10 players from all 30 teams for spotlight sim challenges.)
Complete 70's, 80's, 90's, 2000's, OR 2010's for Dennis Johnson, Kevin McHale, Dennis Rodman, Paul Pierce, or Marc Gasol
10 games on each decade, all on superstar difficulty


If you wish to collect the cards with MT only, and hate playing online, it's best to start with Domination on the hardest difficulty to get 3 stars.
-To make things easier, see if you have, or can purchase the Nets playbook from the auction house, when you have it, get into a game, pause, go to offensive settings, Plays, choose Pass and Screen Away, scroll down till you see Quick Thru STS. When on offense hit LB to open plays, hit LB to call Quick Thru, get into position as shown in game, when the game shows the pass button over the player next to you, pass him the ball, the passer then cuts to the basket and usually has a clear lane, pass then score inside.

If you're done with Domination, Triple Threat Offline has better rewards as you win more games and the rare rewards from the Vault. You can use Spotlight Evos(if you have them high leveled) to get low leveled players.

If your fine with Online, Triple Threat Online is your best bet in making MT, the more times you win in a row, the better boards you get in the ball drop.

If you're not spending money, you're gonna have to grind, especially if you're going for the GOAT collector achievement.

The other solutions are fine, but I feel like they’re slightly misleading as of May 2020. This may seem daunting, but it’s actually pretty easy at this point.

Right off the bat you should get the 96 pink diamond Kobe by using the locker code: KOBE-JHE93-J987G-PWEHD.

Now it’s just a matter of filling in the gaps. At this point, most amethyst and diamond cards can be found for insanely cheap... for example: 91 amethyst Kyrie Irving is only 1.2k. 95 diamond Lamar Odom is only 2.8k. So for 4K you’ll have 3 of the highest gem colors with little effort. If there are players you prefer, you’ll probably find them around these price ranges so choose whoever you’d like, just keep the spending to a minimum. Grab 2 more amethyst cards for under 2k and you’re looking at a starting lineup of all 90+ that you can use for the remainder of this for roughly 7/8k.

So what about bronze, silver, gold, emerald, sapphire, and ruby? Simple! You should have some already from the beginning, and if not bronze-sapphire are all under 1k on the auction house. So what about ruby? Under single player go to spotlight challenges and go the the Jeremy Lin ones. Doing the first game gets you a sapphire Lin that upgrades to Ruby with very little effort (I believe it’s 10 or 15 points in a single game).

Now all that’s left is the “Galaxy Opal” card. Doing a billion challenges isn’t fun, and buying packs is a hard pass... so the solution? Save up about 60k coins and buy one off of the auction house. This may sound like a lot of coins, but it isn’t. Under the “moments challenges” three of them are on pro and get you about 20k. They’re all for scoring 50 or 60 points in a game, but with your free pink diamond Kobe that shouldn’t be a problem. There are also Kobe challenges that give coins. The week 36 challenges also give out big chunks of coins. It’ll take a few hours, but this is not the grind it seems to be. I think in total it took me 10 hours, and that’s from just enjoying the game and finding the higher payout challenges.

Aside from the obvious gem colors, the only other card type I needed was a “heat check” card, and that also only cost 1k.

EDIT 8/29/2020: At this point in the game's lifespan, Galaxy Opal cards are actually very easy to come by. You can get Opals oftentimes by simply checking for locker codes released by 2K, getting one in a Triple Threat Online drop, or by purchasing one of the cheaper opals in the auction house. Some can go as low as 20-30K MT, which is drastically cheaper than the 100-150K they used to go for when there weren't as many opals in the game.

Strategy #1:
For those of you who need a Galaxy Opal but don't want to spend a ton of MT or money, here are your three best chances of getting one without pulling packs (from easiest to hardest):

1. Pink Diamond Evo Serge Ibaka: 500 Wins in Triple Threat Offline + Evolution
2. Dominique Wilkins: 1000 wins in Triple Threat Offline
3. Amethyst Evo Isaiah Thomas: Collect 750 cards + 3 Evolutions

After 500 wins, you'll just have to evolve Serge Ibaka once to get him to Galaxy Opal. My recommendation is to play Domination games on Rookie and try to score as many points as possible to grind it out more quickly. You'll make 90% of your shots on Rookie difficulty so the points will start to pile up quickly.

If you're going for the GOAT achievement to collect 2900 cards, there's a good chance you may end up with the 1000 wins in TTO anyway, which will net you Dominique.


Strategy #2:
If you have the patience and discipline to not spend your MT, you can try to save up enough MT to purchase a Galaxy Opal in the auction house. As of right now, the cheapest I've seen them go for is 175K MT. Completing all of the Domination challenges and climbing the ladder in TTO will net you a bunch of MT. With all the rewards and tokens you'll be earning, you'll get enough free good cards that you won't have to buy any in the auction house to compete.

Available until Monday June 1st, any win you get in MyTeam Triple Threat offline (single player) will get you a 1 card pack. Those of you needing a Galaxy Opal to finish the achievement, I recommend playing a few triple threats. Most packs are shoes but my 5th pack was a GO, so chances of pulling one without spending money is increased! Good luck and hope this works.
