From the main menu go to MyWNBA > The W > Create a new player.

You can just speed through the character creation process as the build you choose doesn’t matter.

After you finish the character creator, load up the scrimmage against the practice squad at the top and once it loads you can simply quit out.

Click to go to your calendar and simulate all the games until the off-season. You can pick any team to sign to, it doesn’t matter.

Once you get to the off-season schedule you’ll have a list of events to choose from. Click until you get to the global icon tab. Click sign with a chinese team to get granted 15k mypoints, which levels up your progression tier.

You’re going to want to continue to the process of simulating to the off-season and picking a global icon event that provides the most mypoints. You’ll be unlocking new global icons events each season until you eventually reach the “sign with a russian team” event. This is the highest tier that provides 35k mypoints. Therefore, you’re going to want to choose this event every time.

It takes around 15-20 off-seasons until you reach progression tier 10, so keep at it!
