How to unlock the She Got Game achievement in NBA 2K24 - Definitive Guide

This one's going to be a grind, as you need 481,750 MyPoints (aka XP) to reach Tier 10. As is becoming the trend with this mode, 2K is making The W a longer and more miserable experience every single year and they really pulled out all the stops this time!

The W is the career mode for WNBA players, you create a player and play through seasons while leveling up and growing your brand. These are represented by various Pillars in the game, the only one we care about is Progression. It's based off your actual gameplay, the better you do on offense and defense it increases. This Pillar has 10 levels called Tiers, which you can always check on The W main menu to see how much experience you need to get to the next tier.

When you start The W for the first time you'll be prompted to make a character. For my method I recommend a 3 & D Point Guard since that'll get you the ball the most, I just used the default build since playing on Rookie Difficulty it doesn't really matter but feel free to adjust to your liking.

The most important thing here is when you get to the option of choosing “The Prospect" or “The Undiscovered Gem", choose “The Undiscovered Gem" as that starts you on Progression Tier 4 and 32,000 XP points. Every little time saver helps. I also recommend playing for the Las Vegas Aces, the best team in the game by a mile. You want a good team so when you're on the bench they'll continue to score without you.

Unfortunately this year there is only one real way to raise your Progression, and that's by playing career mode. If you are very skilled at 2K and can win on Hall of Fame difficulty, you can earn up to 18,000+ experience points per game. You can play on lower difficulties but your gained points goes down significantly. The key here is to win as much as you can, score as much as you can, and do everything you can to get your teammate grade to an A+. This includes getting assists, defensive stops, and playing in position.

If you're like me and Hall of Fame difficulty is out of the question, then Rookie is the long road to take to the achievement. The max you can get per game for Rookie is about 5,000 XP (although it was closer to 3,000 XP for me because I only did 3 pointers and steals), but the positive here is you only have to play the first two quarters. As long as you can score a lot and be up by 25 to 30 points by halftime, you'll get an option in the pause menu to “Ask Out/Sim to the End" and you'll get full credit for the game. As long as you nailed the key points (scored a lot, got assists & steals, didn't get fouls, made defensive stops, and stayed in position) you'll get the same amount of XP as if you had played the full game.

On Rookie, 3 pointers are very easy to hit but you'll still want to get good at hitting them every single time because your AI teammates CANNOT OFFENSIVELY REBOUND WHATSOEVER. This mode is borderline broken because of this. I tried numerous teams in the game and no matter who I had they were all trash at rebounding. This one thing adds so much extra time to the grind, that's why you want to perfect stealing the ball back. It takes timing, but on Rookie it's very doable almost every possession.

It's also worth noting at the end of every season you can sign with an International Team for free MyPoints that are automatically awarded to you. Like last year the max amount is 3,500 XP, which is a far cry from the 25,000 XP in NBA 2K22. The only reason you can't sim until you hit Tier 10 is your player is automatically retired after 22 seasons, which only give you a max of 69,500 MyPoints.

It's also a bit strange too, the first off-season you only get 1,500 XP, the second off-season 2,500 XP, and the third and fourth off-seasons 3,000 XP each. From the fifth off-season to the twenty-second off-season you'll start getting the 3,500 XP per year option.

With this cushion, I played every game of the career mode until I was about 50,000 XP away and then just simmed until the achievement unlocked during a sim screen. I left myself a cushion just in case something went wrong.

I will also mention the old way of doing this achievement: boosting it in The W Online however I do NOT RECOMMEND THIS WHATSOEVER because you risk the 2K Banhammer. I started this achievement out by boosting and halfway through my dummy account got banned. I'm actually pretty sure it got banned for boosting I did in MyTeam mode, but since the ban happened while I was playing The W Online that was enough for me not to risk it. I also have no idea why my main account didn't get banned as well at the same time, maybe that's still coming?

The boosting method I used is I would move my main account to the bottom of the screen while I moved my dummy up half court. You don't have direct control over the AI players, when when the have the ball you can press A and they'll pass to you or X and they'll take a shot. I would have my dummy pass to an AI player and have them take a bad shot, one of my AI teammates would grab the rebound, I'd call for a pass and score the easy lay up since I was under the basket. Rinse and repeat infinity times.

However in addition to boosting being ban-worthy, 2K also nerfed the XP you get from this mode. In 2K23 you got 6,000 XP a game, this year the max you can hope for is around 3,000 XP for a perfect game but an average game is closer to 2,000 XP or even 1,000 XP if all you do is score. It also takes 90 seconds to start a game, which is just maddening.

Thank you for reading my overly long guide for this nightmare of an achievement. As a reward, here's an awesome graph showing how Caitlin Clark did in the 2023-2024 NCAA Basketball season vs every single other man and woman:
