How to unlock the Super Shiny achievement in NBA 2K24 - Definitive Guide

They added an exchange for a Holo player in exchange for 10 Series 2 gold players, with 1 hour cooldown. Don't know if they expire, do this as soon as possible.

The Auction House is removed, which means you or other players can't put up their own Holo cards for sale for other players to buy. The replacement for the Auction House is the Player Market, controlled by 2K themselves.

Unlikely they put holos in the Market, they haven't put the Opals or the 100 overall players in the Market, they would rather you spend money this year on packs with 1% odds.

You also need 1 of every position in the starting lineup for it to be complete.

The silver lining with this is that you technically don't need to spend money to open packs since you can buy packs and boxes with MT. It just takes a while to get that much MT though.

I think that now is just a waste of MT, better wait when they put on the market packs with odds of holo cards. Maybe we are not sure of this but this achievement can wait for me.

At this point from what I've gathered, I doubt there will be a change, Holo cards give a 4X sell value, and 2K doesn't want you to get anything Currency wise easy, they just want you to buy MT/VC, so Holo cards seem even rarer than last year, as of now anyway.

Majestic Elite Box guarantee 1 holo player and it sell for 11.5K VC, I spend around 900K VC to get like 10 holo players. I have one time pull 3 holo players from one box. Good Luck!

None of the holo boxes are around as of right now btw. The one with the 20% chance or whatever was for the in-season tournament I think and the guarantee one the above person mentioned wasn't in the game by time I started it at least lol

Even if you want to buy this achievement with money, there is only 1 pack with 6 potential Holo cards in it. So can't even get the 13.

Come on 2k... This is definitely a policy violation

I grinded season 4 and 5, hundreds of packs opened, not 1 holo yet.

Same fatal I did season 3, 4 and 5 to level 40 opened hundreds if not over a thousand packs and have nothing

Heads up look like this is now easily obtainable without spending any money on packs. They just added a exchange guaranteed holo pack that only asks for 10 series 2 gold cards, they cost 525 MT each so about 5250 MT for one holo each. The pack also has a 1 hour cooldown too so keep that in mind.

There is no overall end timer, so I hope it is permanent.

And those who say it is a policy violation. Probely is, but Xbox also showed already to not care. Max gamerscore for standalone game is 5000. Sea of Thieves is one of several that crossed that. After achievements are published, its not allowed to alter unlock requirements and reward. Still Sea of Thieves was allowed to do both. And several other games altered the requirements alone.

I just unlocked by using the method of exchanging gold series 2 (10 of them) for a holo pack I got lucky and only traded for 13 holos.

I bought over 250 packs and not a single holo card. I am hoping they will do a holo series later in the year where every card in the box is a holo or something. Otherwise, very few people are getting this...

im spending my money on the 4k mt packs, technically its best value to go for the season 1 base packs, but the off chance i might actually get a ruby or new card offsets the cost a little bit. Dropped another 30 packs and still 3/13 but hey, i might get it someday lol

Just a heads up for anyone looking to get this achievement - 2K added a pack today with a 20% chance of getting a Holo. The downside? It costs 21,000 MT or 9,000 VC for one pack. I had 1.6 Mil MT from grinding the game, and by the time I'd got 13 different holos (I got quite a few duplicates) I was down to 200K. 2K may well add packs with better holo odds, cheaper high chance holos or even guaranteed holos later in the year, so you'll need to decide whether its worth it. Personally I just wanted to get this achievement out of the way, and I didn't need to horde the MT for any other achievements. But if you're unlucky you could easily blow through 1Mil MT and still not have enough holos for the achievement, so be warned.

June 2024 Quick 'n Easy Solution

Note: this does require a minimum of 32,500 VC or 68,250 MT.

Second note: I have no idea how long the Holo Exchange will last, so I would do this sooner than later if you have any interest in getting this once nightmarish achievement. I'll delete this if it does get taken away

From the Main Menu:

  • MyTeam
  • Select the Collect tab
  • Player Market
  • Y to search
  • Change Card Color to Gold
  • Change Theme to '24 NBA: Series 2
  • Press Start
  • Buy ten players. With the settings they will only cost 250 VC or 525 MT, whichever method you're using
  • Back out to the MyTeam Home page and select The Exchange
  • Select the Players tab
  • Select the '24 NBA: Series 2 Holo Pack tile, then press A
  • Select the ten cards you just bought by pressing A on every single one, then hold the X button until they explode
  • This will give you a Holo Pack
  • Back out to the MyTeam Home page and select Pack Market
  • Select the Unopened Packs tab
  • Open your shiny new pack and get your Holo Card
  • Repeat this process twelve more times. Be SUPER DUPER ULTRA CAREFUL to not accidentally select one of your Holo cards while doing this, because most of them will be Gold rated as well. I wasn't paying attention and scrapped one, adding another hour to my time
  • Unfortunately you can only redeem for a Holo Card every sixty minutes, so set a timer and go do something fun to pass the time
  • Once you have your 13 cards, go to the MyTeam Home page / Manage / Lineups Management
  • Click the Plus Sign to create a new line up and choose “Full"
  • Enter a name and build your 13 man team out of your Holos. You have to have at least 2 Point Guards, 2 Shooting Guards, 2 Shooting Forwards, 2 Power Forwards, and 2 Centers so hopefully the Holo RNG Gods were kind to you
  • Luckily a lot of players can play two different positions so with your 13 cards you should have all these positions covered. If not you'll have to keep trading in Golds for Holos until you get the right players
  • Play whatever mode you want that supports 13 players, I did Multiplayer Unlimited but it's all your preference
  • Win or lose, the achievement unlocks at the very end of the game
Enjoy getting this achievement for free, or at the very least very cheap if you just bought some quick MT for the Gold players. I talked to people who spent over $500 on this one achievement before 2K added the Holo option on the Exchange.

The most terrible trophy in the game, because it is pure randomness + a lot of hours of grinding VC or MT points (if you play without donation).

As an option to make the task easier, in the latest update 2K added pack options where there is a 20% chance of getting a Holo Card and a deluxe pack, where there is a guaranteed one or two players with a Holo card. You will have to pay a lot of VC for all this (it took me about 1.5 million VC and 700 thousand MyTeam points in two months to get this trophy).
