How to unlock the Arena Vet achievement in NBA JAM: On Fire Edition - Definitive Guide

You must earn 10 total Arena Medals (Cumulative) to earn "Arena Vet" (25G).

When you enter the Online Arena, you will notice a countdown for time remaining in the session... The session restarts every week. During a session you must win five times to earn a medal. (5 wins = 1 medal. 10 wins = 2 medals. 15 wins = 3 medals. 20 wins = 4 medals. 25 wins = 5 medals.) The medals are awarded in the standard bronze, silver, gold, etc. order, but color doesn't matter... only the number of times you earn a medal.

If the session time ends before you earn the next medal you are working toward, your win total toward the medals will reset, but you keep your medals earned.

Arena Challege medals do not count toward this achievement. You will notice you can win "medals" based on feats accomplished in the Online Arena by you, your friends, and co-op partners... these do not count toward the medals needed for this achievement.

The quickest way to earn this achievement it to rack up 25 wins in two consecutive weekly sessions.

***Update. This game is likely old enough now that it can be easily boosted at any time***
This achievement can be boosted easily. The online lobbies are usually "dead" late in the night and early morning in the USA. People in other countries may have better success trying to be online during the early morning hours of the USA. You can see how many players are online, and I had a lot of success matching up with my friend when there were less than 250 people playing. In my experience when less than 100 people were online, getting matched up was almost automatic... with around 250 online, it seemed to be a 75% chance to be matched up. If you get matched up with the wrong person, just quit out. (I recommend making your boosting partner a prefered player, and doing the opposite for anyone else that continues to pop up again and again as someone you are being matched up with. To be polite, you can say their player skill is "Too Good" as the reason to avoid them.)

Once you get matched up with your boosting partner. Have the player who is going to lose the match quit after 30 seconds in the game. You will gain a win if your opponent quits after 20 seconds have been played. I had better success making the match count as a win/loss if we waited over 30 seconds instead of the 20 it says is needed to count as a game played.

You will also recieve
NBA JAM: On Fire EditionArena NoobThe Arena Noob achievement in NBA JAM: On Fire Edition worth 17 pointsEarn 1 Arena Medal.
while working toward this achievement.

Anyone having any luck with this achievement? I am trying to boost this, but it is not counting the wins toward the arena medals. It says I am still 0-0, even though I have finished several games. I even tried finishing a full game and winning and that did not count either. Anyone else running into this problem?

That is a good question. I would love more confirmation that the matchmaking in this game is broken or discontinued so that I could update the solution about it. The game is very sparsely played now, but I can see someone unlocked the achievement here on TA about 2-3 weeks ago.

The online play is still available, but you do need to re-accept the EA terms IN A DIFFERENT GAME to restore online functionality. There is more information in the forums for this game. Message me to boost.

Winning five games online within the timeframe (a week) set out in the NBA Jam OFE arena gives you your first arena medal and unlocks the Arena Noob achievement.

The maximum number of medals you can gain each week is five - bronze (5 wins), silver (10), gold (15), platinum (20) and diamond (25).

Therefore from having 0 medals, the quickest way to gain 10 is to win 25 online games in two consecutive weeks.

Avata - just having a look around, there's no absolute certainty on this.

Tell you what - reckon the best way is to have a go, see if the wins count and, if they do, let us know here. I'll credit your expertise if I edit this solution for sure!!!

And if they do - I'll be looking for a boosting partner as well.

I'd love to know if anyone has figured out if private matches count. I suppose you'd only have to play 5 games to find out, right? Then if the 1 medal achievement pops you know you're on your way.

private matches do not count. you can still team up with a friend in the arena and have the wins count, but you can't pick your opponent and get medals.

JLogan - myself and a friend did exactly that. we picked a time where few people were on (I'm lucky because I'm in Australia, so we are the opposite time to lots of other areas) and we simply did 3-2-1 search.

Worked about 70% of the time. The other thing you can do is "favourite" your boosting partner, and "unfavourite" any randoms.

Hello, I have some questions.
The "quit out method", after your rival quits out, and you "get" the win, do you need to finish the match against the AI, or the match ends up altogether?
It would help if you mentioned that on your solution, a bit more "For dummies" explanation of the quit out method, and how it works... Yesterday I played with a friend, be we finished every match, we got 5 wins each, but took us around 2.5 hours, never tried the quit out method, It would be helpful if you could elaborate a bit more on that subject.

Thanks!

The "quit out" method counts as a victory and you don't have to finish the match, as probably about half of my legit wins online come because I get up by 10 points before halftime and then the opponent quits the game.

I just went up on someone by scoring the first 10 points and then they quit out of frustration and I did not get the win. So I am wondering how far into the game you have to be or how may points you need before it will count the game if someone quits out.

It doesn't matter what level of arena medals you collect for the 10 correct (I could just get 10 bronzes)? Other then it obviously taking more than 2 weeks to unlock...

Best way to do it is pick a time that there are few amount of players online...preferably <150. Start a party with your fellow booster and simply go 3-2-1-search. If you match up, play for about 45 seconds then one of you quit out...the other will get the win. Repeat 99 more times.

You earn Arena Medals by winning Online Arena games. You earn 1 Arena Medal for every 5 Wins. You can boost this Achievement by inviting friends to Online Arena games. Please use the Achievement Trading Thread for help.

UNOBTAINABLE DUE TO SERVER CLOSURE

This is an online trophy that requires you to earn 10 medals in the online arena, which is the equivalent of 50 overall wins, across multiple sessions. Bear in mind that there are also specific online challenges, similar to the jam challenges, that reward you medals, but they DON’T count, only wins count towards the Arena Vet trophy.

When you first enter the online arena, you’ll notice a timer ticking. The timer is set to seven days, and represents the remaining time you have to win matches and earn medals in that particular session.

The medals are divided into Bronze (5 wins), Silver (10 wins), Gold (15 wins) Platinum (20 wins), and Diamond (25 wins).

The maximum amount of medals you can earn per session is 5, which translates to 25 wins in total, or an in game Diamond medal. You can still go beyond the 25 wins, but that would be only for the purposes of improving your leaderboards standings and scoresheet in your online arena history. When the timer expires and the session ends, a new one immediately follows, and you can start your quest for medals again, meaning that the Arena Vet trophy (Earn 10 total Arena Medals) will take you a minimum of two sessions (two weeks) to obtain.

This trophy can be achieved solo or in co-op, or you can mix between both, it doesn't really matter, as long as you're winning.

Please refer to the Boosting Thread, for help with the online trophies.

You need to go to the online arena and you will see a counter, it indicates the time remaining until the end of the season. In 1 season you can receive a maximum of 5 medals, one medal is given for 5 victories.

The trophy can be boosted with a friend if you leave the game 20-30 seconds after the start.

The main problem in boosting is the lack of the ability to create a lobby, invite a friend (only if you play in the same team)... that is, you need to “look” for each other online at the “same time” (ala MK9)
