NBA JAM: On Fire Edition

You increase your rank by earning credits. You get credits from playing games and from completing jam challenges. You can check what the challenges are and what's required for them by hitting the back button in the game menues or by pausing while in a game.

I know that this will only apply to a few people like 200+ but if you have completed the Retail version of this game as soon as you load it up you get bumped to level 10 and awarded $15,000 lol. I dont know if it is cause I have completed it or not but that is what I did and it gave me the acheievemt :)
