Many people have trouble getting the In the Zone achievements (except for Playmaker, which is relatively easy). I know that I personally tried each move for each type of superstar move like 50 times before I figured out how to do it. Don't worry about position of the player relative to the basket, placement on the court, getting the exact right animation, etc. All you have to do is release the left bumper (LB) after you do the clockwise rotation. I got all of the difficult In the Zone achievements in about 2 minutes once I realized this. Basically, when your guy is in the zone, hold LB, move the right stick in a clockwise circle, starting and ending at the top, and immediately stop holding LB. Worked every time for me.

Edit - For this particular achievement, some people have had trouble unlocking it even after releasing LB. If this is the case, first try rotating the stick only 180 degrees - that is, from the top clockwise to the bottom - and then letting go. If this doesn't make it pop, try exiting to the Dashboard, restarting the game, and trying again.

What "In the Zone" means: After you have one player make a few unanswered baskets (or even assist on a bunch), you should see the words "IN THE ZONE" in orange letters next to the player's name in the bottom corner of the screen. In my experience, this should happen after 8 points, but it has taken up to 12 for some people. Once this happens, the 5 In the Zone achievements can be unlocked.
