Go into 'PLAY NOW' and select LA Lakers and Boston Celtics to play.
Press the LB or RB to make the match a 'Rewind Game' and make sure the date reads 06/05/2008.
Play as the Lakers and before you go into the game change the rules so there is no 24-second shot clock violation and no 8-second halfway rule violation.
Make sure you have the quarter length set on 10 mins as well or the achievement will not unlock.
All you have to do now is hold onto the ball when you get it and stand around down the other end of the court until the end of the game. So just hold onto the ball every time you have it running down the clock to 0.
By doing this you will keep Paul Pierce's point total under 10 thus unlocking the acheivement. You don't have to win the game, just keep his total under 10.

Good tip for being offline - might pay to mention in your guide that this also gets the rewind game achievement. Also, by accident I went into overtime and then won the game! Thanks!

Just in case someone is still playin it in 2022 and have trouble with this one like me even after followin the 2 other guide , here is what i did to unlock : " Be a pro" mode , select lakers ( boston was the Home team) and select 8th june in rewind game ( rb at the team select screen ) , select a player cause u can only play one guy in this mode , go in settings before launching the game and select 10 mn quarter , 24 s rule off, 8 s rule off . Keep the ball in your side , pierce need to be under 10 pts at the end of game , was online when i unlocked it after tryin 2 times offline . Good luck

This is the correct solution. Don’t need to be offline. I used the 6/5/2008 rewind game and held the ball.

Go to the "Main Menu">"Game Modes">"Be A Pro", then select the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers as the two teams. Now hit

Don't forget to set the Quarter Length to 10 Minutes as you will not be able to get the achievement without doing that. The Difficulty can be set to anything. Now once in the game go into the Pause Menu and go to Settings>Rules and turn off Shot Clock and 8 second violation.
Now when you have the ball just hold on to it by your opponent's basket and let the clock run down. You do NOT have to win the game to get this achievement. All you have to do is keep Paul Pierce's point total under 10. So just hold onto the ball every time you have it running down the clock to 0. Once the game is over if you have successfully kept Paul Pierce's point total under 10 the "Cool Off" achievement will unlock.
