Easy one to get...
a) First, you must pick a team with a rookie:
Tyreke Evans - Kings
DeMar Derozan - Raptors
Brandon Jennings - Bucks
Stephan Curry - Warriors
Johnny Flynn - Wolves
b) Then, go to game settings and slide the long range shooting all the way up and the steals all the way up. Doesn't matter how long Q's are because you get it once you get 58 points...
c) Once your in the game, just start jacking threes, make sure you have a bit of space, then they will got in basically 95% of the time.
d) Once you obtain 58+ points, your achievement will pop up!

I think with updated rosters these players are no longer rookies

Since the game has updated and all the former rookies in the above mentioned guides are now sophmores, the achievement will not unlock with them. I tried with several players including Evans, Curry, and Jennings.
The rosters have updated and the new rookies have been put into the game. Some of the best choices for the achievement include...

Adjust the sliders in your favor and then use the rookie team in long periods (8 min. should do). The quickest way to rack up the points is get the ball to Stephan Curry (#30). He usually runs to the left wing to spot up from 3. Just fire away and you should get it in no time. It took me just over a quarter.

There is an all rookie team. Use that. All 58 must be with the same player and Stephan Curry is the best on the team He is #30. It really doesn't matter which team you play against as long as you adjust the sliders in your favor. Should work with that.

Put player lock on any rookie and keep scoring until you reach 58 points.
Suggested Players:
Blake Griffin - LA Clippers (the one I used)
Brandon Jennings - Milwaukee Bucks
Stephen Curry - Golden State Warriors
DeJuan Blair - San Antonio Spurs
Spanish, Assault
Just score 58 points with a rookie. J. Flynn from Minnesota is a rookie. Can be done on any difficulty and will unlock once you score 58 points.
