Court Battles is a cool new mode where you play on your own court that is fully customizable. Some may actually enjoy this more than anything else in the game. In this mode, you control all 5 players on the court but can command your A.I. teammates to shoot with or pass with . You 'battle' actual users teams. You get a base team, then level up and acquire additional NBA, WNBA or Street Ball Legends or Music Industry Stars. I have Offset from Migos on my team who is not a bad player! Some legendary NBA players are available but you must reach 10 or 12 or more in Court Battle Hype to unlock them, plus have the Rewards Points to buy them. You gain this XP/Hype by winning or even losing games. In-game feats give additional Hype. You can also gain minimal but appreciated Hype while not even playing.

Other users can play 'against' you and your court. If they win, you may have to 'reclaim' control of your court. If they lose to you, even if you're offline, you get that extra Hype. You can even grind this by beating PSN friends that have the game, and their own court. I think you can only beat them 2 or 3 times a day, then try again. You will see weird rules, like: 'Dunks and Blocks worth 5 points, everything else 1 point' etc. You will see player requirements for some people's courts like 'Have a minimum of 2 Slashers in your lineup' etc. Choose your battles as you see fit. You may see some games as 'To 11 points' but every basket is only worth 1 point. Get to level 20 for the trophy. You will need 1,000,000 XP/Hype to reach 20.
