How to unlock the BCS Conference Invite achievement in NCAA Football 08 - Definitive Guide
After simming Notre Dame for like 8 seasons and not getting it...
You can max out a few players in TCU and sim ONE SEASON and win the bowl game, then u will get an invite the very next season. Worst ive heard is having two seasons this way max.
Personally got it after the first season this way and went 13-0, won the Rose bowl then got an invite to the Big 12 to replace Baylor.
Wish i knew this from the start. This one was a biatch.

I will vouch for this 100%. I maxed out a few players (I was going for the Interception one, too, so I maxed out more than I needed to do this one), simmed the entire season, ended #1, simmed the BCS title game, won it, won the Heisman, and replaced Baylor in the Big 12 right afterwards. Damn!
If I'd have done this straight off, I would have gotten the National Champ (30), Bowl Win (10), Heisman (25), and BCS Invite (25) at the same time... 90 points in 15 minutes. Instead I went the Western Michigan route as well (working up the 6-star achievement and continuing it), which didn't do me any good even after back-to-back championships.
Excellent tip!!

Select Notre Dame for the Dynasty. Advance to a BCS Bowl or BCS Championship and win. After a season or two you should be invited to the MAC. Accept and have two to three successful seasons (MAC championship, BCS Bowl, or BCS championship) and you should be invited to either Big 12 or Big Ten. Achievement popped!

what people dont realize, is that it will take other people some time to get this to trigger. There is no set number of season to get this. I dont understand why people keep thinking that it will trigger in a season or 2. What i am about to say is just common sense. Why do you think you dont get an invite to the BCS????????? You want to know why? Because ITS FULL!!!! THEY HAVE MAX TEAMS IN. What you need to do is wait, You will get an invite to replace a team who is doing horrible. It might take as many as 10 seasons.

I got it in 4 seasons

Alrighty, so I did the exact same thing in NCAA Football 08 and NCAA Football 09 to get this achievement and it worked on both games, first try, no issues. The only difference between the two games is, NCAA Football 08 I got it in one season, whereas, in NCAA Football 09 it took two seasons.
**Before we get to it, a quick side note... I think one main misconception that most people are having with this achievement is, yes you do need to have a VERY Good season and get invited into a BCS Conference, but also in order to get invited another team that is already in a BCS Conference MUST do so horrible that they get kicked out of the BCS Conference, making room for you to join. That being said, I will get to my guide of exactly what I did.
First thing, I chose TCU as my team to use, so I went through and raised all the stats for all of the Freshman players (this would insure that if it took more than 1 season, I would still have all of my awesome players for 4 years if needed, but like I said should only take 1 season this way, 2 seasons max). After I finished raising their stats, I went to Baylor, and lowered and lowered only 2 stats on each player for the entire team, which was SPEED and AWARENESS. They can be able to catch and tackle all they want, but if they aren't fast or know what's going on then they aren't a threat, lol. After I finished with Baylor, I decided to lower one more teams stats who was in BCS Conference already just for good measure and better odds. I chose to lower the stats of Alabama, doing the same as I did with Baylor, only lowering SPEED and AWARENESS on every player. *This will probably take the longest out of everything. **Personal opinion: I wish they had the option to change stats by 10 at a time as well as 1 at a time like they did in some of the much older games. ***(Also, you may want to save your rosters like this, just in case you wanna use them again to help with other achievements. Going and changing stats for a whole team is a pain, and saving the roster keeps you from doing it over and over).
Anyway, after that long part, next thing is to start up a new dynasty, and obviously choose TCU as your team. Next, you will come up to the preseason screen (it has preseason recruiting, redshirts, custom schedule, etc.). You shall go into custom schedule now and we shall change the schedule up a bit. Now any game that isn't locked in and can be changed, go in and change it to you playing against preferably teams in the top 10 ranks. If there is a date where one of the top 10 ranked teams isn't available then at least try to play against a team in the top 25. That way you have multiple games against top ranked teams and will insure you will slowly rise to the top ranks yourself after beating each one through out the season.
After that, we start the season. Go into the settings, and change skill to Freshman. Then change the all the USER stats in the Game AI (i.e. offense, defense, special teams) all the way up and stats for CPU all the way down. Also, it would be helpful to turn all of the penalties down.
Now that all that is done, SAVE EVERYTHING. Next we will go through and sim each game week by week. Save after every game you win, and if by some very rare chance you lose a game then back out, load the last good save and resim that game. (With a super statted up team, I don't see you losing at all). Now, once I got to about week 9 or 10, I still wasn't in the one of the top 2 spots. So what I did was I went and found the #1 teams game for that week and played it. You can either play as the #1 team and force them to lose, or even play as the team against them and just stomp them. Me I chose to play as the team against because it was more fun to destroy them. Here is where having all the penalties down helps as you can just keep setting up a guy next to their QB and keep sacking him. After I beat them, I would go and do the same thing against the #2 team. (Side Note: in order to find the top teams games easier, go to NCAA schedule, hold RT and scroll until you see "Top 25"). Then, I would sim that week and save. If there are any teams still ahead of you the next week, Just do the exact same thing for any team that is ahead of you. Also, after so many weeks at a time make sure to go check on your other 2 "down-statted" teams to make sure they are on a steady losing streak. Now, once you are a top 1 or 2 ranked team you should be able to just sim through the rest of season making sure you don't lose any games. Also, make sure to win the BCS Championship. Not sure if it is 100% needed, but I am sure it def helps out ALOT.
After the last bowl game, you will go through all the simming and get to contract extension. Accept it, and keep simming. The achievement should pop a little but after the contract extension, depending on if you gotta go through all your records broken first or not for that season, but it will DEF pop before you get to the offseason. It will have a thing saying "so and so is being kicked outta of a certain conference, would you like to join?" and you say yes and it will pop then.
Now, for anyone whom it did not pop by the offseason, you may have to sim one more season with a winning record. Which at this point just get to the season and choose to sim the entire regular season. You should win every game if not almost every game. Then sim through all the bowl games to the end of the season and you should get invited then. After the bowl games, and before getting to the offseason.
If anyone has any questions, concerns, or such feel free to send me a message. GOOD LUCK!

Do this achievement at the same time as the "1-Star to 6-Star" achievement. You need to choose a team from either the MAC, C-USA, MWC, WAC or Sun Belt divisions. The rest of the divisions are already in the BCS. Once you are doing well enough (maybe around 3-4 stars, maybe later), you should get an invite to one of the other six conferences and you'll have it.
