How to unlock the Kickoff Return for TD achievement in NCAA Football 08 - Definitive Guide
For this achievement, you must return a kickoff back for a touchdown in a play now or dynasty game. A kickoff occurs at the beginning of each game, at the beginning of the second half, after a successful field goal, and after a touchdown.
To make this achievement easier, you want to max the stats of your kick returner (you can do this by going to edit team and then edit player). The most important stats to max out will be speed, acceleration, and agility. It is also useful to max spin and juke in case a defender comes close to you.
You should also go into options and edit the “user” and “CPU” sliders. Maxing out the sliders for the “user” and lowering all of the “CPU” sliders will also help if you are having difficulty. Also, make sure to play on “recruit.”
If you want to be very safe, you can lower the players on your opponents team so that they are very slow and cannot tackle you. In addition, you can edit your teammates blocking, but these edits should be unnecessary.
When you are going to return a kick make sure to select “Return Middle.” In this play, you only have one kick returner. This gives you an extra blocker. When you return the kick, you should act like you are going toward the middle, when you see the two or three players on the outside run toward the middle of the field, you want to cut outside and run straight up the sideline.

You can do this with two controllers. I chose UCLA or whatever the #1 team was for the controller I wanted to get the achievement with and San Jose State for the controller that I didn't want to get the achievement with. The controller that is getting the achievement should be the one receiving the kick. Make sure the kick is at least an average kick so the kick returner can get the ball. With the controller you're getting the achievement with just use your thumb to control the character. With the other controller mash and over and over to make the team dive and fall over. If you don't score on your first try exit out of the game because it will take less time and less effort than trying to receive another kick.
