How to unlock the Mr. February achievement in NCAA Football 08 - Definitive Guide

I tried all four of the above listed solutions - in various iterations. None of them made it pop.

After hours of making "promises" and "offering scholarships" I tried something different, and got it to pop in less than 10 minutes.

I started a clean dynasty with Texas. I then skipped all the preseason bs, and started simming the season game by game, saving after each win. If I lost I went back, loaded the last save, and simmed the game again. Once I had simmed an undefeated season, I simmed the conference championship game and the BCS championship game, and finished the season with Texas undefeated.

Then I simmed to the start of the off-season recruiting process. I saved again, right there, before I started the recruiting process. Then I just simmed through the entire recruiting process - without bothering to go through and put all the 5-star recruits in my list, without bothering to go through and make "promises" or "offer scholarships".

The first time I simmed it, I ended up in 5th. The second time I simmed it, I ended up in second. The third time I simmed it, I ended up in first. But the achievement didn't pop until after I told it to advance past the recruiting.

(There's a screen on the recruiting interface that tells you what you ranked. When it said I was first and it didn't pop, I thought it was another "NCAA Football 08" achievement glitch - but advancing past the recruiting process was a necessary step.)

Anyhow, the only reason I'm writing this is because I wasted 2 1/2 hours trying the other solutions, when I could have just done what I finally did, and had it in 10 minutes. It's your choice which to try.

Worked like a charm. Actually never had to reload! Won all games, including the national championship, and got the #1 class on my first sim.

Hell, with Texas, you get a 5 Star and two 4 stars after simming the first game. At least I did.

Couldn't get it with Texas so I did it with Michigan on my first try. Thanks!

Grrr... I hate these achievements. When I use Michigan, Texas is #1. When I use Texas, Michigan is #1. What gives???

I did this 10 times and got 3rd 9 times and fourth once as Texas, which was annoying because I was 1st before going into the actual simming. I then switched over to Mich and ended up getting it third try. I was 6th going into the recruiting stage as Mich but ended up second or first.

go to dynasty, new dynasty select the Florida State Seminoles... ONLY the Florida state seminoles. now save before you play your first game of the season.

Just Simulate each game if you win, then resave the season and sim the next game.if you lose then just hit B until you have the option to quit dynasty mode, do so, and do not save.the reload your previous undefeated season and go on until your season is complete and undefeated and win the national championship.

When my team went undefeated, the team had in-season recruiting of 7- 5 star, 9- 4 stars and a couple others. and this made me able to just sim the whole recruiting process and have a huge lead and earn the achievement.

it unlocks once you sim past the recruiting period. also if this doesnt work for you just start a season with any team and sim through the recruiting period after the first season. now take note of who's atop the top classes list select them and then use them to sim the perfect season and it should work this way if the SEMINOLES didnt work for you.

Worked perfectly...had to play one quarter of a game then used super sim to finish game. I went undefeated in my first season and then used sim just past the recruiting phase of the off-season.

Worked, but didn't quite play out to your results. Actually I almost neg voted your outcome cause at the end of the season I only had five four* (in-season recruits) but it went a lil better post season (3x5, 14x4 & 2x3). Overall, just like many of thses cheevos there isn't a real strategy its all luck of the draw. Thanks for help on 50g!

How my buddy got his was he pick Ohio State as his dynasty team.

Step 1: When it asks you to make a prospect select yes and make a 5 star prospect at every position (more if you want I recommend at least 12+ players). This is the important part when it asks where the person is from select Ohio only (since that's where team is from)

Step 2: When the season starts save before you do anything (playing or simulating) if you win save if you loose back out then keep trying till you win. Go through 1 full season undefeated and wining the bowl game and national championship. If you did it right your team should have grabbed all your created guys. Then the achievement will unlock.

I tried using the other solution suggesting using FSU and didn't get it to work despite going undefeated and wining the national championship. For my second attempt at this I ended up making 20+ 5 star players, all from Ohio, and ended up getting 12 of them to commit. The next highest was Michigan with 3. Finally got 1000 now!

As much as I hated using Ohio state, this worked first try. I gave up trying to sim and win the national championship and it still popped.

Down vote because 1: Who cares how your buddy got it your the one writing this not your buddy! 2: You know nothing about the game of Football. FSU, Texas and Oklahoma have NEVER EVER been in the SEC. Next time write your own guide about something you did not your buddy and make sure you know what your talking about before you do...

What I did was I chose Michigan to be my team in dynasty mode and filled my recruiting board with 5 star caliber players first thing I think 27/35 had me in there top 10. From there I just simmed my season making sure I won every game and the national championship.

Just by this I pulled 5, 5 star caliber prospects without doing anything except selecting them for my recruiting board.

In the offseason I just made 3 promises:
1) Early playing time.
2) Win the Big Ten.
3) Have a winning record against rivals.

This netted me 7 more 5 star recruits by week 3. From there I just simmed the rest of the recruiting and the achievement popped.

Hope this helps as this can be a little tricky.

To get this you basically have to have the most 5-Star recruits during an off-season. If you win all your games as well as the National Championship, this really shouldn't be a problem. I got seven 5-Stars after winning every game and the championship with USC, so go with that if you're having trouble.
