How to unlock the Oil Tycoon achievement in NCAA Football 09 - Definitive Guide

Start a Dynasty. At the beginning of the season, do the preseason recruiting, do Prospect Search, and search by state (a nearby state preferably and one that isn't already a pipeline state) and by interest in your school possibly. Select as many players as you can from there, then sim the entire season. You should be able to sim the postseason as well, and with your amount of recruits from one state it should give you the Oil Tycoon cheevo when the next season starts. I used UGA and made South Carolina into a pipeline state.

Thanks for the info.

Another combination to use is LSU and PA.

Also as Zacry072, you will not get the achievement until you start the next year's preseason.

I actually got this with TCU after the first season of dynasty while going for the BCS Conference Invite achievement. Knock out two birds with one stone?

i got it with boise state without doing anything i was simming trying to get the bcs confrence invinite and it just unlocked after the first season

To get a pipeline state, you have to sign a few people from the same state each year. To do this, just target every person from a neighboring state and work on signing as many as possible.
