Tried multiple times on my own but did not work. Then changed settings to default (except for playclock) as Gimme suggested and got it first time.

The achievement description reads "Chew up the last 5 minutes of a game on a single drive to preserve the win."
(The key phrase in this achievement description is "to preserve the win.")

After trying this several times and becoming frustrated, I finally figured it out. Hopefully this will save you some time and anger!

Here is what I did:

1) Because this was my last achievement to unlock, I deleted all of the save files on my xbox hard drive for NCAA 10

2) I also cleared the xbox cache (which can be done by hitting Y at the memory device select screen from the dashboard) just in case that could be preventing it from unlocking.

3) I started up the game and set up and exhibition team between the Florida Gators (played as Gators at home) and the Georgia Bulldogs with 5 minute quarters on Varsity difficulty.

4) After the coin toss, I super simmed it all the way to halftime.

5) Then, I went play-by-play through the third quarter making sure that I was 7 or less points ahead of the Georgia Bulldogs (making the Bulldogs only needing to score once for me to lose) and that the score did not change (you can jump in to prevent your team from scoring or play defense, after preventing the score, go back to super sim and go play-by-play again)

6) With around 1:30 left in the third quarter, I exited super sim and tried to get the ball back anywhere under the one minute mark (in the third quarter) and far away from the end zone. Once I was on offense, I hit the "B" button and turned on the Chew Clock setting from the playbook. Then hit the "Start" button on your controller and go to settings. Once there, turn off the play clock.

7) Go back into the game and run the ball (making sure to not turn over on any fourth downs) until you are in the fourth quarter and the clock is running down.

8) Set down your controller and wait until the end of the game

9) Achievement Unlocked!

Note: Turning off the playclock will not prevent the achievement from unlocking.

When I unlocked it, I won with the Gators with the final score at 10-9.

Don't panic if it does not unlock right after the end of fourth quarter. Once the highlights are over it should unlock without a problem.

Anything I missed? Feel free to comment or message me.

As the other solutions suggested be sure to have your play clock off. Kick off to the losing team with two controllers and make the kick returner runs out of the end zone and then back into the end zone to score a safety. In turn you'll get the ball kicked back to you with 2 points. Then hold the ball after a play to start the clock. When the third quarter rolls around be sure your "winning team" with 2 points has control of the ball and the option on the play screen of "chew clock" listed as being on. Then when the fourth quarter starts, hike the ball with the winning team having possession to get the clock going. Then choose another running play and don't hike the ball. After the five minutes are up you'll get the achievement. I got this on my first try.

This trophy has some hidden requirements to pop. It took 4 attempts for me to figure out all the necessities (including one fumble that ruined a drive). First, you need to have quarters at 5 min (maintaining the drive through two 3 minute quarters didn't work). Secondly, the spread between the two teams needs to be less than 7 points (my final score when the trophy popped was 3-2 (a 7-0 and 3-0 score did not work)). Finally, you need to turn on the "Chew the Clock" function. Without this on attempt #2 (with a 3-0 final score) I received no joy.

Turn the Play Clock OFF. You can tweak sliders to make the CPU unlikely to make a successful drive. You can also have the other team controlled by a second controller if so desired. Establish your final score in the first two quarters. Others say you can SuperSim through the first 3 quarters, but once I had the score I wanted, I simply picked the play, didn't hike the ball and ran out the clock for the 1st half. After getting the ball in the 2nd half, pick a running play to start the clock and then you can choose your next play and sit at the line of scrimmage until the clock expires. Wash, rinse and repeat at the beginning of the 4th quarter and wait for the game to end. The trophy pops after the game highlights are completed.

You'll need to have the game set to at least 3 minute quarters to have a chance here. Chew up the clock by calling only running plays and taking the play clock all the down to 1 or 2 before you snap the ball. Stay inbounds to avoid stopping the clock. Don't break any long runs either. As soon as you cross the first down line, dive with the SQUARE button automatically ending the play. To make this easier, on the menu where you select to call a play by either Formation or Play Type, turn on Chew Clock (it's at the very bottom). This will help to wind down the clock faster.
