How to unlock the Red Zone Shutout achievement in NCAA Football 10 - Definitive Guide
The opponent's Red Zone is the area of the field inside the your 20 yard line. To unlock this Achievement, you need to ensure that your opponent doesn't score a touchdown on a drive where any down begins on the 20 yard line or closer. A Field Goal is acceptable, as is scoring on a play from 21+ yards out as it doesn't count as being in the red zone.
If you're having trouble unlocking this one, you can do all sorts of things from adjusting sliders, or using the no-offsides "cheat" to continually sack the opposing QB, to lowering the difficulty level. You may even be able to earn this in a two-player versus game, but I can't confirm that (if anybody else can please?)
The Achievement will unlock at the end of the game.

it appears that the opponent must run at least one play starting in its red zone. When keeping the opponent from ever getting into the red zone, it did not fire.

This trophy is almost the opposite of Red Zone Perfection. Whenever the other team gets inside the 20 yard line, you have to keep them out of the endzone. You can allow field goals, but they can't score a TD. This is made easier if you play as a powerhouse school against a creampuff school.
