This is the way I got it : I was recruiting a kid throughout the season after a game mid way through he was a soft commit to another school. I Highlighted the kid and hit Y for more info. I was only 1 point behind the other school. So I spent a hour with him and negative recruited against the other team. The following week he committed to me and the achievement popped. This wont always happen tho, I had this scenario happen a few other times and they stayed committed to the original school.

i just got a soft commit from tennessee to commit to me and no pop?

Offering a scholarship (if you haven't already) is a good way to earn a lot of points and potentially get an instant commit.

If a prospect has a soft commitment, you need them to have a hard commitment for you. It's easy if you use a 1-star prospect because you can just offer him a scholarship and he will sign with you most of the time. Or, if you already offered him a scholarship, just downplay the school that they are soft committed to.

Make sure recruiting is on Freshman. Find a prospect that is soft to a school and has you as their #2 school. It works better against bad teams, so you can downplay their pitches. Just downplay 6 topics on that school for that prospect every week until he switches to your school.
