How to unlock the Tire Fire Offense achievement in NCAA Football 12 - Definitive Guide

Turn the difficulty to freshman, turn off sides off, 1 minute quarters, play clock off, if the computer gets the ball first, force them to punt, then run/kneel once in the second quarter, and let half run out. 2nd half get the ball down to the 20 in the middle of the field, let clock run down to 4 seconds, take a time out, them kick a field goal. This is the fastest way, if you score in the first half you have to deal with the CPU taking timeouts.

If you vote negative please let me know why so i can fix it
Edit: Do not have negative total yards, this causes the acievement not to Pop

I don't know if it was a glitch or not but . . . when I tried it the first time I had negativetotal yardage and the cheevo didn't pop. The second time I had about 50 yards and the cheevo popped.

Wanted to point out that it doesn't seem to matter whether the comp is home or away. If they win the toss, they choose to kick.

Im stuck on this cheevo; i figured i was doing what (fireant68) was doing but then i had a total of 60 yards and it still didnt pop; i have always had negative offensive yards but im not sure if that really matters?

I would suggest not having negative yards, i would suggest using offensive plays to get the ball down the field, in the 4th quarter not running the kickoff/punt to that point, or if you have negative yards in the fourth quarter, use timeouts to get it above 0.

I haven't confirmed but the other solution mentioned that total yards included kick/punt returns. so it's probably best to run forward plays and not take a knee or return kicks.

You might want to add to your solution you need positve yards for this to count. Just finished with 59 yards total offense. 2 controllers works as well.

Just got this... Had all the settings as said. I kneeled it one time in the first have and going into the second half I had -2 total offense yards. Then on kick off in 2nd half I ran It about 20-25 yards. Then chose a pitch play and ran it all the way to the 20 yard line. After 3rd quarter had to run one more inside run play to get clock running again. Got about 4 yards and let myself get tackled. Let the clock tick down to about 6 seconds then kicked the winning field goal. Did a kick off, tackled their return man, and game over, and achievement popped. I ended up with 63 total offense yards. So you can kneel the ball as long as you at least pick up a few yards and don't end with negative total offense yards. Kickoff return yards do not count towards total offense yards

So, you must cannot gain 200 TOTAL yards -- which includes everything (Running, Passing, Kickoff Returns, & Punt Returns). Check your team stats for "Overall Yards" -- near the bottom to see your total yards. If you are over -- you can take a few runs backwards, or take a punt and run it backwards.

I also assume this is much more easily done in a shorter game (1-2 mins). I did it playing 5 min quarters and after I realized it, just kneeling away the clock.

This can be won by kicking field goals because in my game I recovered 2 fumbles for TDs... and realized I could finish this achievement, but had already kicked a field goal. Just make sure you DO NOT score an offensive TD. If you're close, kick a field goal, let them wear down the clock while you play defense.

I am so surprised that no one wrote a solution for a safety,Props to the top two solutions and I gave them both thumbs up!Ok here we go,remember less than 200 yards of offense,I had under 30 yards of offense, because I sacked the punter in the endzone which caused a safety.Turn difficulty to freshman and offsides off,you can have playclock on or off, this is real easy guys.If computer gets the ball first, kick the ball in the endzone or try to keep them back in their endzone. Then guys go offsides and tackle the Quarterback or runner and by the time it's fourth down if you haven't sacked the QB or runner in the endzone, well you will sack the punter in the endzone, you will get two points and the ball back.Run the clock out and the achievement is yours.I thought this way was easier.Goodluck.If you post a negative, please let me know why,and I will explain better or just email me.Thanks.

For this trophy, you need to win a game without scoring a touchdown and gaining less than 200 total yards. Choose a Play Now game and select Oklahoma vs. San Jose St. Choose Oklahoma for Player 1. Set the game to 1 minute quarters. After the coin toss, simulate if you need to get to offense. Once you're on offense, march the ball down the field and once you're in comfortable field goal range (40 yard line on the opposing teams half) kick a field goal. Simulate Defense and just run out the clock to win 3-0.

Set the quarter length to one minute and play against a real low team with a team with excellent defense. For this achievement you can score with safety and field goals (it has been reported that defensive touchdown will not work so to be safe, just score FG and safeties). Play some good defense. Once you get your points and get the ball back simply try to kill the clock.
