I used Texas Tech, but ultimately you want a team with a highly rated offense, no less than B or B+.
Choose your team, and then select one of the newer teams (Texas State, UMass, or University of Texas San Antonio.) because truthfully they're all terrible.
When you get possession of the ball, air it out with a Hail Mary, or a shotgun play. You may not hit it everytime, but eventually you WILL make a connection with a receiver and 90% of the time this will result in a 50+ yard pass. If it doesn't work the first time, rinse and repeat until you do get it.
Alternatively you could get a second controller or change the sliders to your favor.

Total play needs to be 50 yards not a 50 yard pass Yards After Catch (YAC) counts for this. Meaning you make a 20 yard catch reciever runs for another 30 yards = 50 yards. I did this as carson plamer in the heisman challenge, wasn't even trying for it.

If for some reason you're having trouble unlocking this trophy, try the following tips:
- Adjust the settings. Set the User Sliders to 100 and the AI sliders to 0.
- Another alternative is to choose a Play Now game and choose a 6 star school and play against a 1 star school or FCS team and just throw a Hail Mary and you should easily get this.

You shouldn't worry about this as much since it might be one of the first achievements that you unlock. If you still haven't got it when playing the game, start up a game with two controllers. Select "Field Goal Block" for the team with your second controller and a "Hail Mary" with your team. Pass the ball immediately after hiking it and you should have an easy completion with yards to spare.
