To get a Heisman with Desmond Howard, you need roughly:
- 950 Receiving Yards in a season
- 19 Receiving Touchdowns in a season
- 3 Receiving Touchdowns in a game
- 1 Punt Return Touchdown in a game
Take Desmond Howard and turn autosave off, put the difficulty to Freshman and turn off injuries and fatigue. Then, put all the sliders in your favor (to 100) and put all the CPU sliders to 0. Start up by selecting "Play game." Once you get into the game, sim and hit: "Skip ahead until the end of the game. Do this for every single game of the season. For me, Howard had multiple 3 touchdown games, and even returned a punt for a TD when I was simming in game. He was easily able to get a green bar in ALL categories.
If you can't get the punt one, then you could always go in game and try to return one. This will be easy because the sliders will be in your favor.
Remember, manually save after EACH game. Good luck!

This is a great solution, for me Desmond Howard was the only one who actually got better stats simming than when I actually played the game, even on Freshman difficulty, for some reason my quarterback would never throw me the ball. Thanks dude

What team should I put him on?

I initially struggled to get the Heisman with Desmond Howard and had to play a second time to get this achievement. Here are the steps I followed that assisted me:
1) Start your Road to the Heisman with Desmond Howard and pick Southern Methodist (SMU) as your school. SMU runs the "run and shoot" offense and Howard will likely average over 100/ypg as a result.
2) Turn autosave off and turn the difficulty to freshman. I didn't find it necessary to adjust the sliders.
3) Once in the game, hit sim till on field, but only when you know it's going to be a punt or kick return. I let the computer sim offense, and Howard would rack up stats without my assistance. But you can really clean up by actually playing the punt and kick returns on rookie.
4) It's not necessary to play all the games. I played only the weak games of the schedule: Week 2 (FCS), UTEP, Memphis, and Rice. If you play those four games, being sure to return the punts and kicks in all the games, you can sim the rest of the season. The reason you play these four teams is because their special teams is significantly worse than the other teams on the schedule, allowing you a better chance to score on the return team.
5) Save before you play/sim a game. The games you play you should win because you'll likely have multiple return TDs. Just be sure to save before you sim games. Back out and re-sim the week if you lose. I went undefeated with SMU and I felt it helped Howard's Heisman candidacy. Be sure to save every week after every win.
If you have any questions, please ask. If you vote negative, please explain why.

Good guide, only thing I would change is to set the minimum speed threshold to 0 which makes the return TDs even easier (I had about 11 against the FCS team).

Unlocked after completing the Heisman Challenge with Desmond Howard. These are the season goals that you should aim for in order to win the Heisman.
- 950 Receiving Yards in a season
- 19 Receiving Touchdowns in a season
- 3 Receiving Touchdowns in a game
- 1 Punt Return Touchdown in a game
You may need to play two or three games with Howard in order to win the Heisman. Reason being is that you may not always get passed the ball all the time. When in the game, try to run slants with Howard to get a better chance at getting open. Remember that you can press the to call for the ball.
