How to unlock the Take Them Down achievement in Need for Speed Payback - Definitive Guide
Wrecking a cop involves ramming them enough to remove their health, or guiding them to hit something else. You'll most likely get this through the course of the story and the other achievements. You're going to get a lot of cops destroyed during the exclamation point mission at the end of chapter 4 when you drive a large Semi. You can also replay it if you really want more, the start location being near the airfield.
During the escape hunts, you have to escape the police, say, quickly leave the track and disappear into the hinterland. The cops are persistent and ram you, set up some traps too. You have to pay it back with the same coin. Similar to the burnout takedown series (it really feels like it), you also have to ram the police and drive up with Nitro at the back. The most effective is still to ram the vehicles in an obstacle or rocks, usually these are then effectively destroyed in slow motion. Over the opponent you also see a damage report. When this is used up, their vehicle is destroyed even with light ramming attacks. In the course of the game you have to switch off 100 vehicles in this way. The story, however, is long enough, with lots of bulls trying to sweep you off the streets. Sooner or later you will get the achievement / trophy.
Tip: Go to the main menu and then to "Journal". The last tab "Driver details" lists at the bottom under "Outlaw" the statistics, how many chasers you have turned off so far. If you reach the 100 here, the success / trophy belongs to you.
