How to unlock the Comeback is Real achievement in Need for Speed Payback - Definitive Guide

Do this on the League 73 boss race against Udo Roth. It's an offroad race called Wild Streak, in the centre of the map. Lead the race then let him overtake you as you go into the 2nd (final) lap. You then have a reasonably long lap to retake the lead, and only one person to overtake to do it.

Skirt the City in chapter 5 was fun and easy too. Six racers, but the laps are 5 miles long and it's all open highway.

For those that have the speed cross DLC, look for the starting point of the DLC (light blue/aqua colour bubble) in the center of the map with a steering wheel logo and then scroll across to the left for the pink bubble which has the suspension logo.

Another reference point would be the off-road dealership as it's right next to the race. Can be done after you've beaten Udo too, you'll just go up against one of his crew members instead of Udo.

Done defeating Holtzman during the final race before getting the story related achievement. A 3 laps race on and off road , quite easy to achieve !

You need to get into the final round in a round race in last place and then win the race. In normal races with 7 opponents this is of course quite difficult, but you can also get this success / trophy in the duels against boss opponents. Since you only have one opponent on the track here, you can leave the opponent in front of the home stretch and then take the lead again in the last lap. At the end of the race you will receive the reward.

This achievement is very doable in the second race of the game (not including all of the intro races). The hardest part of the achievement is keeping all of the cars in the race together. If first place get's to far ahead or last place drops to far behind you have no chance. Make sure to keep taking out first place until just before the last lap now stop completely and let last place over take you. Once last place is past and onto his last lap go all out with your best driving skills to get past everyone and finish the race in first. Your achievement should now pop.

Fast and easy guide.
Before chapter 6 get car that's best for you (best on lvl 399) and carrry on with the red flag marker races until you unlock Skirt the city race.
It's in the south-east part of the map.
Very easy long two laps. Keep your car last until you start lap 2. Then just full speed ahead. Easy win.

The task "to the outskirts" is on the very right side of the map below. The location is in front of the bridges, the length is 20 km, the first lap you go last, then you calmly overtake and the trophy is yours.

It is not necessary to stay last from the very beginning, you can calmly go for 3 laps, 2, 3, 4, on the 4th, be last for a while and finish before the finish line.

I just accidentally knocked...
In general, I passed a boss in the desert (Udo), on the last lap I accidentally skidded, and the boss overtook me (before that he was first all the time). In the end, I had to catch up with him, and it so happened that I overtook the boss before the finish line.

I spent a lot of nerves trying to get out of the "Silver Casino Loop" race according to the advice above: there is a lot of traffic that interferes with the comeback, and computer idiots crash so often on turns that in the end there is a huge gap between the first and last car.
Calmly knocked out in a ring race “in hyperspace” (lower right corner of the map), using Regera. There is no traffic at all, the opponents are not stupid, there is enough space for overtaking.

Any circuit race with a boss (there are only two of you, so you don’t need to overtake a dozen opponents per lap): on the penultimate lap you let him go ahead, on the last lap you overtake him, and the trophy is yours. The easiest way to use Udo is off-road.
