How to unlock the Buddy Bust achievement in Need for Speed Rivals - Definitive Guide

To unlock this achievement, you need to use a cop car to bust someone on your friend list as a racer. This is pretty simple to do. Start a Friends Only game (not necessary but just makes it easier to avoid other players while going for this) and invite someone on your friends list to the game. If no one on your friends list has this game, you can create a boosting session on this site to help. Once you have your friend in the session, meet anywhere on the map (party chat helps to coordinate this), activate a chase by pulling up behind your racer friend and pushing LB, then simply have the racer friend stand still while the BUSTED meter fills up and your shiny new achievement unlocks.

Now I did a boosting session for this and the achievement to beat a friend in a race and had trouble unlocking them. I had to restart my Xbox and then did them again to get these two achievements. My thought is that I was already in the game when I added this person as a friend, so perhaps the EA servers did not register them as being on my friends list until I restarted. Maybe I am the only person who experienced this, but if you are having trouble unlocking this, simply shut down your Xbox and try again.

Edit: Just to clarify (as N1ckKz) points out in the comments, the terminology is no longer "Invite to Game". You have to have your friend "Join a Party" and then start the game in order to get your friend(s) into your game.

Update: In case you did not see in the comments, I have since traded this game in and can no longer assist with getting this achievement.

You can't "Invite a friend" on the Xbox One, you must start a party then it will say "A gaming session is available for your party" Would you like to join?

I had trouble connecting to someone until i figured this out.

Seems like only the person who joins the other person's game will unlock the achievements. Might be why there's trouble unlocking.

Simple enough. Get a friend in a car, you in a police car and find your buddy on the map. Get your buddy to remain still, and then ram him 4 or 5 times.

When the busted alert pops up, the trophy will as well.

You don't have to ram your buddy even though it can be fun you can also simply park your police car next to him wich gives you a busted / getting busted meter once it fills up the trophy pops up. wink

We send an invitation to a friend and meet on the map. Next, there are two options for “arrest”:

1. Wreck a friend's car

2. Press close to him and wait a little until the arrest occurs automatically.
