How to unlock the Professional Collector achievement in Need for Speed Rivals - Definitive Guide
I did this at level 14 after only having bought 2 or 3 different cars (I prefer to upgrade instead).
I personally find it quite difficult to bank points as a Racer in this game, so I didn't want to waste them all on cars I won't use when the upgrades and power-ups start to get quite expensive. Once I had enough to buy a load of early cars (it's important to work it out based on which cars you already own - I had about 400,000SP) I quickly started buying them 1 by 1 until the Achievement popped. I then pressed the Xbox Guide button, followed by the Menu button, and Quit the game.
When I loaded it back up it hadn't autosaved (I think it only does that when you first enter the hideout) so I had all my money back, no useless cars, and a lovely achievement worth 50G :)

Good solution. I didn't dashboard it, but with the trick to earn SP quickly in this game (see solutions on TA...there are a few places you can do it) it really isn't an issue. You can get several hundred thousand SP in 5-10 minutes.
Something worth noting is that you have to be level 10 to do this as you won't have 10 cars to buy until level you are level 10.

Progress as a racer to level 10. This is when you will have access to ten cars. As cars get progressively more expensive, it is best to buy the first ones to save you speedpoints.

After completing racer career, I bought 12 cars. Still doesn't unlock. Do I have to drive each one of these?

The achievement has probably glitched on you. I had 4 cars, bought 6 cars one after the other, and got the achievement, so driving the cars doesn't matter.

List of the 10 least expensive cars:
• Ford Mustang GT 2015 Free (downloads as automatic update on PS4)
• Dodge Challenger SRT8 30,000 SP
• Aston Martin Vanquish 32,500 SP
• BMW M3 GTS 37,500 SP
• Ford Mustang GT NFS Movie 42,500 SP
• Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 50,000 SP
• MB SLS Black Series 57,500 SP
• Porsche 911 GT3 67,500 SP
• Audi R8 V10 Coupe 77,500 SP
• Ferrari 458 Spider 87,500 SP
Grand Total = 482,500 SP
You must be Racer Level 10 before unlocking the Ferrari 458 Spider.
NFS Rivals uses a currency system called SpeedPoints (SP). The fastest way I found to get the 482,500 SP, was to stick with the free 2015 Ford Mustang GT.
- First, the Mustang counts as a purchased vehicle towards the Professional Collector trohpy.
- Second, it has much better top speed, with only slightly less control versus the Porsche Cayman S. You will need that extra top speed after gaining a few ranks in racer mode.
- Third, it will contribute to earning two more trophies
I recommend purchasing level 1 performance upgrades, which cost 35,000 SP. As well choose two pursuit techs, they range from 5,000 - 15,000 SP. All said you are looking at about 550,000 SP to earn this trophy.
When you exit garage, the map will display. Start at a race type that helps complete the Speedlist you've chosen. Completing Speedlists is necessary to gain the rank needed to unlock the cars to buy. After finishing that race if you get gold I would head for a new race type. Upon completing a second race you'll likely be around heat level 5 with approx 60,000 SP to bank. Head for repairs if needed and drive around if the cops aren't all over you. Try escaping the cops as this adds a big SP bonus, and finish the objectives on your current Speedlist. Along the way, you will discover new speed cameras, jumps and speed zones giving more SP. After a few minutes you should be heat level 6-7, and around 80K SP. Drive to the nearest hideout to bank it.
After 9 times of doing this I had the necessary SP, and was level 10. I got wrecked twice when my Speedlist was completed, you gain a level but zero SP. I found these small deposits were faster, over trying to bank more at a time potentially losing it all by being wrecked. Good luck
Bonus Tip: If you purchase the cars all at once, and want your SpeedPoints back. After the trophy pops, hit the PS button and select 'Turn Off PS4'. Your SP is returned (no purchased cars of course) to use elsewhere, once you relaunch the game.

If you're like me and have no interest in completing this game but want this achievement, this is what I did. I repeated the Easy "To The Limits" Time Trial which takes just over a minute with a decent car over and over again. You pass a repair shop AND a hideout along the way so its almost impossible to get busted. Once the time trial is over, go to Easy Drive and just repeat it. Whenever you get nervous that there are too many cops, go bank so you don't lose you're well deserved money. On average I'd bank about 50k every 10 minutes. I started this at level 10 (because of the level achievement), had already bought 3 cars so i only needed 7 more. So to summarize only use this if you're getting to level 10 or NOT going for 100% completion with this game. Cheers!
Pretty simple to get, I unlocked this by Racer level 12. It does not count the vehicle you start with, you need to actually purchase ten vehicles. If you spend very little on performance upgrades and weapons, you could probably have this by around level 10.
A quick way to get credits early on in the game is just drive around the world and discover all the speed traps / cameras and set times for them, along with doing head-to-head races, these methods are also good for getting these trophies relatively early:

Cars are purchased after unlocking only by playing as a racer, to unlock a car you need to complete the speedlist.

I thought the trophy was glitched, but no, it fell out when I bought the 11th car, don’t be alarmed.

You need to buy 10 cars.
Since the first car is given to us for free at the beginning, we need to purchase 10 more.
