Can be done in private matches.

Create one private Catchup duel and set the maximum players to 2, and invite your friend, you just have to complete the race.

Catchup Pack, you will need 3 player, and of course, can be done in private lobby too

No, this does not require a DLC to download.

You can find races with other players and just complete them (you don’t have to win), or you can create non-rated races and invite friends

For one of the modes (catch up with a group) you need 3 players

Play the race live, you don’t have to win, you just need to play.
