How to unlock the Drag Queen achievement in Need for Speed - Definitive Guide

For this achievement you need to win 5 of the new drag events added in with this update, drag events show up on your map with an icon with two flags like this

For this you can actually keep winning the same event, there is an easy drag event near the garage called 'Neck to Neck' press cn_start and open your map and highlight the event and then press cn_A and then cn_LSr to select 'teleport' and press cn_A again to teleport to the event.

Once at the event press cn_RB to start it, you will need to drive forward into the glowing area and then hold cn_LT + cn_RT to spin your tires a bit, the race then counts down. You change gears using the cn_RS and control the cars steering as normal (Its not on rails)
The opponent will be driving a very bad car so anything with some tuning will beat it easily.

Repeat the event 4 more times for the achievement
Here's a video of the setup and the event

It's cn_RB to start the race. But otherwise great guide!

All of the drag races are actually quite easy, even the hard one.

thanks! +1 from me, but perhaps you could include the general locations of the other 4 Drag races for those who would like to do 5 different ones, instead of the same one 5 times.

My solutions here to offer the fastest way to get the achievement, which imo is playing that short easy one.

When do these unlock in-game? Do you need to be a certain Rep etc or progress through the story first?

I was already max REP and had my story complete so I'm not sure, http://nfs.wikia.com/wiki/Need_for_Speed_(2015)/Drag_Race doesn't say any prerequisite listed.

I have no idea how anyone managed this haha. Manual gear changing is something I never use in racers.

This is just a heads up as this regularly happens on the 'neck to neck' drag race. Sometimes the AI opponent does not spawn in to the race. It states he fails the start and you are left to coast it by yourself. When you get to the end of the race it gives the opponent first place in the table due to no time being better than actually posting a time. It is a glitch and the game will still give you the win towards the achievement as well as in game earnings etc.

You will need to win five drag events which are the new race type introduced in the Hot Rod Update. Drag events are shown on the map as a blue icon with two flags crossing over each other. Drag events are all in manual transmission.

You do not need to win five different drag events. You can repeat the same drag event over and over if you wish. An 'easy' drag event is 'Neck to Neck'. Win and repeat this event five times.

Once a drag event has been initiated, drive forward into the glowing area and hold + to do a burnout and warm up your tires. Now to change gears simply push or and control the car with as usual.
