How to unlock the Fulfilling The Need achievement in Need for Speed - Definitive Guide

The final race in this story line is "Macdermid's Mile" and it can be a serious pain mainly because you are forced to use his junky old 1973 Porsche and you cannot mod it. I tried this race many, many times and almost gave up. When I finally beat it I did it with 15+ seconds to spare because I changed up my driving style. Here's what I did -

E-Brake cn_X around tight corners and immediately use NOS to get going again. Using cn_LT to slow down for turns costs a ton of time!!

Constantly use NOS. It refills pretty quick. If your NOS meter is ever full after the start of the race you're doing it wrong.

If you crash, start over. Don't waste time finishing the race.

This one is if nothing else works for you. Try turning off the sound. It makes you a lot calmer I found, and that can certainly help.

Using the E-Brake cn_X going around turns if BY FAR the biggest help in shaving off seconds. Good luck!!

got 6:33 twice before smashing it with sub 6:09.
1 crash is certainly acceptable. I also only used the E-Brake at tight corners. Otherwise I braked normally without drifting.
Once you get to the beginning of the long bridge you should be at or below 4:00 or else you're likely not going to make it.

everybody got me nervous about this one. But even though I made two rather bad mistakes in the first 30 seconds, I still made it with 20sec left on the clock.

I got it in my first try, with a time of 5.49:49 , plus a crash.
It's not really that hard tho.

This achievement comes after a mission called 'MacDermid's Mile', where you have to beat Magnus' time in a trial using Magnus' porsche. You have 6:31 to beat and contrary to other guides, you can crash and still win (I crashed twice and came in 10 seconds under target time). The car is fast but be careful and don't take corners full on, the car is capable of full drifting if you catch it right, so just be aware of what's coming up. Once you finish the race, you'll get a call to go to the Longhorn, after which the achievement will pop.

*** Warning this solution requires reseting your game and replaying again ***

For those players whom have experienced glitched achievements which will not unlock the only current solution for getting them is to reset your journey - be warned that this means you must replay the game up to the point where the achievement did not unlock and try again. The game does not keep a local save file so clearing local cache or deleting a save under manage game will not work. Also restarting your xbox, reseting your account or any other combination of solutions has not worked for gamers after searching the web, reddit and EA/Microsoft channels this is the only solution to date (04 Feb 2023) which will work.

Launch the game and get to the the main menu
      Go to settings.
At the bottom is an option called "Reset Your Journey".

This will let you start the game again from the beginning
