How to unlock the Bug Squisher achievement in Neon Abyss - Definitive Guide

Sure, you can get this through natural play or.... you can grind it out in about 30 minutes. Fire up a brand new save and go through the tutorial until you get to the boss George - The God of Pills. The important thing to know about this tutorial is that you can't die. You'll get all the way down to 1/2 heart and then your health stops going down.

The boss continually spawns 3 of the flying bat creatures that almost always drop a worm that you can then run over. The achievement tracker doesn't track your progress, but you can use your coin count as a rough estimate. Each worm drops a single coin, a silver coin, or nothing, but like 95% of the time they drop a single coin so once your coin total is close to 999 you should be just about to get the achievement.

Try not to hit George b/c once he's dead you can't abuse your invulnerability any longer. The achievement does seem to track across your saves so you could just fire up a new save to get the remainder.

It might be a good idea to pair this grind with
Neon AbyssShopping ManiacThe Shopping Maniac achievement in Neon Abyss worth 187 pointsEmpty 4 shops in a single run.
in order to give you a large starting bankroll.

Great Solution, thanks. For anyone interested, this took me approx 1 hour to complete. I was watching a stream so wasn't super fast.

Do you need to do something in boss battle.. Or is it just to begiN running from left to right?

In the boss battle he will spawn the flying bats every 10 or so seconds. If you take off about 1/3 of his health he'll go into his 2nd phase which adds a ground pound attack. In the 2nd phase he releases 4 bats per slam. I think the best way to get him to ground pound is to lure him to one side and then run completely to the other side.

Even with this method it’s still pretty tedious

This is cumulative across all runs (successful or not) and all save files. Note that this achievement does NOT track, despite most others doing so.

Worms drop out of the eye robot enemies that either charge around on the ground or flying around the air. If a worm pops out of one of these enemies when you kill them, you then need to walk over the worm to squish it, which makes a coin pop out.

You'll definitely make some progress towards this achievement without trying, as you'll end up stepping on worms inadvertently while fighting other enemies. However, once you realize that worms give you money when you step on them, you should actually make it a point to do so each time you can, since money is virtually always in short supply. Unfortunately, since this achievement doesn't track, there's no way to know how much progress you've made throughout your time. Regardless, you'll almost assuredly be left with grinding out quite a lot of worms to finish off this achievement. Thankfully, this achievement pairs nicely with Shopping Maniac (30G). Refer to that achievement for a strategy that will make a lot of progress towards this achievement while working on that one, but that can also be used to just grind out this achievement much more efficiently.

Killing certain enemies drops small worms. If you run over them, a coin falls out of them. If the worm is golden, then about 20 coins drop out.
