How to unlock the Hovertank achievement in Neon Chrome - Definitive Guide

Lame boss. You should prepare for this boss before reaching him. You want a gun that is accurate which means it will hit from a distance. Boss has 3 phases

1st phase: He starts out just machine gunning you. You need to watch out for explosives on the platform you are standing on. Use the turrets on each of the 4 corners to add some extra DPS and distract the boss while you blast him

2nd phase:
he will add a rail gun to his routine. Just make sure you are moving in any direction that isn't in line with the rail gun shot.

3rd phase: He now adds rockets to the mix but not many. Same thing as phase 2 but with 2 times the adrenaline in your system.

Video clip of my speed run (Note I am very strong level 65 damage and level 50 health) Video is 1 minute long:

Turrets are key here. If you managed to kill the first boss on this run then you should have got a key from him that you can use on this level, after the boss dies, to get a legendary weapon like a flame thrower or battle rifle. It looks like a weapon container only it is orange instead of blue

Story related and cannot be missed.
Hovertank is the third floors boss. Long range abilities will help with this boss so missiles or mini missiles will be perfect. Avoid its mini-gun by moving around and hiding behind the boxes. Make sure you activate the turrets to aid you. Once that turret has been destroyed, keep moving around the map using all of them to help whilst maintaining cover and doing damage yourself. Just note after the first 1/3 of the health bar is gone, it will start to ‘sniper’ shoot you. This will kill you in a few hits so keep moving to avoid this. The last 1/3 it’ll start firing rockets too so just keep moving.
Beating this boss will unlock floor 4.

This is the third boss of the game, and is by far the easiest in my opinion. It hovers off the side of the arena, giving you plenty of safe area to move around in without the boss getting in your way. This arena has a turret in each of the four corners, and the map forces you to move around it clockwise from the northern position. Head to the northeast corner and turn on that turret (switch just south of it) and hang out near the turret until it's destroyed. The turret will aggro most attacks for you. When it gets destroyed, move to the southeast corner and activate that turret and repeat. Do this for each turret. Even on my very first run, I didn't need to use more than two of the four turrets, so there are plenty to spare. Let the turrets aggro the boss while you just shoot at the boss nonstop.

It also has three phases but they're essentially all the same. The first phase is just a periodic machine gun, the second includes a periodic railgun shot which is telegraphed and pretty easy to strafe out of line of sight. The third phase adds in an occasional rocket too, which again is easy to strafe away from. Your only real threat in this fight is the rockets in the third phase. Taking one to the face will mean instant death in early runs, but as long as you keep strafing back and forth, it shouldn't be a problem, and this boss should go down easily.

The tactics are simple, there are four turrets on the map, we run clockwise, the turrets are on the corners.
We damage the boss, turn on the turret, stand next to it - the boss damages the turret, you are the boss.

Any machine gun will work well, or a Heavy Gun - something like a sniper rifle.

The first time I killed the boss, he destroyed all the turrets, and I simply ran clockwise to the end and back to the beginning - simultaneously shooting at the boss. With this tactic, he doesn't hit you with shells and missiles.

Now I kill the boss on the first turret and the turret remains intact.
