In one of the earlier stages (I believe Lower Keep), there is a part where you will have to go shoot three buttons to open a jump pad. The area is LITTERED with turrets.
If you just shoot all of them, preferably far away (I used the sidearm), you can get this up to 64 by the small tower with 4 on top.

During the first real mission, "Fortress Siege - Town Square", you will be tasked will finding your way through a building. You will come to a room with a turret in it where you need to activate two switches to unlock a door. You can enter this room and go behind the turret so it can't shoot you and melee it repeatedly until it dies. Activate both switches in the room by shooting them and the turret will respawn. You can then melee it until it dies again and repeat the process until you've reached a x64 multiplier.
