How to unlock the The Icy Guardian achievement in Neverwinter - Definitive Guide

Story related! Icespire Peak. Lvl 46.

However, lots of people have trouble with the boss. An easy way to kill him is lure him back in the tunnel you came from, the ads wont follow. This way you can be alone with the boss, just dodge his attacks and you should be fine. If you have low DPS, don't use a defender as companion as he will die pretty fast.

Kill the boss here and then enter the last room and deal with the two remaining wolves.

Or just bring another player with you :)

Good Luck!

EDIT: "You can miss this and most of the story quests.
If you reach around L 53 before starting Icespire Peak, you whont be able to finish this and need to do it on a new character.
Cant even use share quest to start the quest line." (Suggested by Tabbe)

EDIT 2: (Suggested by doowylloH) When you reach a high enough level (~53) there wont be any exclamation- or question marks above the heads of the "quest-givers". Although you should still be able to complete the quests.

EDIT 3: (Thanks for REJECt444 for this information)
The quests which need to be completed in this area are:
Peril on Icespire Peak
Winterkill Orders
Retake Whats Mine
The Goblin Warrens
The Forward Front
Strange Alchemy
Under Thin Ice
A Breath of Fresh Air
The Icehammer
An Axe too Far
Hrimnir's Hands
Worlds of Stone
The Final Climb
A Dangerous Distraction
The Icy Guardian

I'm actually struggling with these "story related" missions.
I can't seem to get them going on my char. I've done every mission that I could find in Skyhold AND Icespire, but I can't find any more to continue with. cry

well now. -1 for "can't miss" when clearly you CAN miss... I have been all over this zone with 2 lvl 60 characters now and i cant get the last few quests to spawn. Didn't know why until reading these comments.

changed my vote to a +1 instead of a -1. My missing quest was Words of Stone given by Orreft Mountwatch (he only has the one quest) After i talked to him I got the quest and then the rest of the exclamation points started popping back up as I turned in those quests. btw... I have found the necessary quests in this zone to earn this achievement. They are as follows...

Peril on Icespire Peak
Winterkill Orders
Retake Whats Mine
The Goblin Warrens
The Forward Front
Strange Alchemy
Under Thin Ice
A Breath of Fresh Air
The Icehammer
An Axe too Far
Hrimnir's Hands
Worlds of Stone
The Final Climb
A Dangerous Distraction
The Icy Guardian

Thanks for this. I went back and found Orreft Mountwatch, and sure enough he had the remaining quests I needed to finish this as a level 60 player. If I recall right, he is at the camp fire after the bridge made from a giant axe.

If you miss The Goblin Warrens or The Icy Guardian it can affect unlocking Great Deeds achievement.

Gide... you CAN find them! You were right the first time. The only difference is, the exclamation above the heads will disappear after a certain level (don't know if L53 is accurate or not). The quest-giver is still there (yellow font for the name), you just have to make the effort to talk to them. Nothing is above their heads to inform you, but if they have the "quest-giver" yellow font for their name, you need to try talking to them. I jumped from campfire to campfire in the places I'd missed, and eventually found someone who gave me the quests to ultimately get the story-based achievement done.

It's just a matter of talking to them.... toast Thanks again!

REjECt444, you're a savior! Just t completed The Icy Guardian with a Level 60 Ranger. Speaking with Orreft Mountwatch was the key I was missing. Thanks gidestrand for the advice on the boss. Made it so easy.

This is now unlocked under the tutorial part of the game (the first 6 intro adventures. It's the 4th one, Icepeak).

Story related and can’t be missed! This quest will eventually be given by Erren Rockstrider in Icespire Peak.
Here is the quest progression:

There are a couple quests after the 'Icy Guardian,' they are 'Remember the Fallen' and 'Reckoning.'

The quest is taken in the Ice Peak location from Erren Rockstrider (~ 1142, 3584), just complete the chain of quests in the location and they will lead you to it.
