This is something you do as part of the weekly quests for this mod. Eventually, you'll be able to do 3 restorations a week (without messing with quests.)
They reset progress when they changed the requirements from the repair of the glyphworks itself to returning to the quest giver area. You can either do the permitted repairs each week or you can repair a glyphwork and return but NOT hand in the quest. Instead you can drop the quest and take it again for more progress. Beware! This is why they reset it once before so when they figure out its still exploitable, it will probably be patched (and reset) again.

Well that's garbage. I had 10 playing normally. Was there something people did to knock this out faster that they patched?

Damn it, I was at 17 legit and unaware of the change. I just completed 3 more and thought my achievement was glitched until I looked at the journal. Scumbag Cryptic. Terrible developers.

Yep FxH, cryptic pretty much are liars who only care about money. It's ridiculous. I might get this no death tomm thing at some point.. haven't even done a single try of tomm yet. My glyphworks were reset too.. so dumb.

Update! You do NOT have to turn the quest in, at least with the Ruins area glyphworks! It triggers progress as soon as you arrive back in the Vallenhas stronghold after teleporting there, then you can abandon the quest and re-accept it again from Berion Vallenhas. :-D

To check progress: Journal, Achievements, Quests, Hardened Glyphwright.

Originally you could play with friends and repairing their glyphworks counted for your counters too. They didn't like that so they reset everyone.
Thanks for the neg someone. Try it if you doubt me
The patch notes explicitly mentioned this.

Yeah, way to fuck over 99.9% of the playerbase because 0.1% cheesed an innocuous achievement that doesnt even matter. This isnt even a skill thing. Who the fuck cares if people progressed it by partying up? FFS.
I too was almost done, 18/20 the week prior to the patch. Cryptic really need to be force fed a big bucket of moose semen.

Same here. I was 1 week from the achievement and then... boom! 0/20... now 9/20. you can restore 3 glyphworks each week, so it's a total of 7 weeks, starting from 0...
What i found completely crazy is the reason why they did this.
They said that previously the counter was updated each time you restored a glyphwork. People was taking the quest, reaching and restoring the glyphwork, then dropping the quest. Rinse and repeat, it was possible to obtain this achievement on the first week.
Fine, change the mechanics and that'all.
WHY THE HELL RESETTING THE COUNTER??
People who were exploting this "glitch" already got the achievement.
The reset targeted ONLY people doing it legit. That's totally crazy...
OT: about the achievements in general... Do you remeber what they said when they released the update of the Sea of Moving Ice (=Svargbord)? They realized that they went too far asking people to complete the trial without dying. They declared that they would have not add another achievement like that in the future... And, oh, look at that: no people dying in ToMM... Final reasoning: check the PS4 achievements. They don't ever get the hardest achievements...
